5. Order Acceptance and Billing

All billing information provided must be truthful and accurate. Providing any untruthful or inaccurate information constitutes a breach of this Agreement and may result in order cancellation. Prior to accepting an order we may also request additional information from you. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order for any reason including limitations on quantities available for purchase, inaccuracies, or errors in product or pricing information, or problems identified by our credit and fraud avoidance department. If your order is canceled after your credit card (or other payment account) has been charged, we will issue a credit to your credit card (or other applicable payment account) in the amount of the charge. We will contact you if all or any portion of your order is canceled or if additional information is required to accept your order. By confirming your purchase at the end of the checkout process, you agree to accept and pay for the item(s).

Walmart reserves the right to limit the quantity of items purchased per person, per household or per order for any reason. These restrictions may apply to orders placed by the same account, the same credit card, and also to orders that use the same billing and/or shipping address. We will notify the customer should such limits be applied. Walmart also reserves the right, at our sole discretion, to prohibit sales to dealers or resellers. 6. Pricing Information

Walmart reserves the right to cancel any orders containing pricing errors, with no further obligations to you, even after your receipt of an order confirmation or shipping notice from Walmart. Walmart may, at its discretion, either contact you for instructions or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation.

You agree that Walmart or its affiliates may review the products in your possession and/or your receipt at any time and request that any products be re-scanned or product or order price be re-calculated. In the event you and any Walmart employee calculate different totals for your purchase, the calculation confirmed by the Walmart employee shall be the amount payable by you. Customers With Disabilities Policy

Customers With Disabilities Policy

Policy Principles:

Walmart Canada takes pride in welcoming customers with disabilities to its stores. Walmart is committed to providing a safe, convenient, and dignified shopping experience for its customers with disabilities.

Scope:

This Policy applies to all Associates of Walmart Canada who provide service to our customers.

Key Points:

Store Access and Facilities

Each Walmart store is wheelchair accessible and each Walmart store permits service animals to enter the store.

Assisting Customers with Disabilities - Merchandise

Customers with disabilities who experience difficulty in carrying merchandise are permitted to leave items at the Courtesy Desk or the Layaway Desk until such time as they are finished shopping. A Walmart associate will assist by ensuring that all items to be purchased are moved from the Courtesy Desk or the Layaway Desk to the checkout. If requested, a Walmart associate will ensure that the merchandise is safely carried out of the store.

Movator / Elevator

Customers with disabilities who use a manual wheelchair, motorized wheelchair/scooter, wheeled walker, or other mobility-assisting device must be accompanied by a Wal-Mart associate when using an in-store movator. Walmart employs movator greeters to ensure that customers reach their destination safely. In stores in which an elevator exists, customers with disabilities are encouraged to use the elevator for greater safety.

Manual and Motorized Wheelchairs

All Walmart stores contain manual wheelchairs and some contain one or more motorized wheelchairs for use by customers with disabilities (or by the elderly).

Use of a manual or motorized wheelchair is free of charge and is based on in-store availability.

Use of a manual or motorized wheelchair is restricted to the store’s interior premises and to the front sidewalk in front of the store’s main entrance. A manual or motorized wheelchair must not be taken into the parking lot or into a mall or adjacent stores.

To access a manual or motorized wheelchair, a customer may simply enter the store and, with the assistance of one of our associates, take a manual or motorized wheelchair from the location at which manual or motorized wheelchairs are kept. Alternatively, a family member, friend, or driver of the customer may – upon notifying a Wal-Mart associate - take a manual or motorized wheelchair from the store to the curb of the front sidewalk so that the customer can access the manual or motorized wheelchair directly from his/her vehicle.

For safety reasons, Walmart may at any time request that a customer (or his/her family member, friend, or driver) refrain from leaving the store with a manual or motorized wheelchair until a Walmart associate can be appointed to accompany the customer (or his/her family member, friend, or driver) and the manual or motorized wheelchair to the front sidewalk.

Assistive Devices

A customer may need to use an assistive device to enable him/her to access Walmart’s goods and services. This could include a wheelchair (see above) or other piece of mobility equipment (cane, walker, scooter, oxygen tank, etc.) or a device that permits the customer to communicate more effectively (magnifier, GPS, audio player, amplification device, computer, communication board (communicates symbols, words or pictures), speech generating device (‘speaks’ when a symbol, word or picture is pressed), etc.). Walmart respects and permits the use of assistive devices.

Service Animals

Service animals are permitted to enter Walmart stores as companions to customers with disabilities.

In many cases, given the type of animal and/or the animal’s identifying markings (eg. a harness), it will be readily apparent that the animal is a service animal and the animal shall be permitted to enter the store without question.

In certain cases, it may not be easy to identify an animal entering the store as a service animal. In such cases, for health and safety purposes, a Walmart associate shall ask the customer to confirm that the animal is a service animal. Walmart may deny admission of the animal into the store until such time as the customer can produce a tag or card or other document from a public health authority or medical practitioner confirming that the animal is a service animal. If the customer provides a document, it must be on official letterhead from the issuing health authority or medical practitioner and it must contain a telephone number. If the Walmart associate questions the validity of a document provided by the customer, the customer should be granted temporary access and a copy of the document should be made so that the authenticity of it can be immediately determined by calling the telephone number on the document. If the document’s authenticity cannot be verified, the customer should be informed and asked to remove the animal from the store.

Support Persons

Support persons are welcome to accompany and provide assistance to customers with disabilities in Walmart stores.

Walmart Associates

Customers with disabilities are encouraged to ask Walmart associates for assistance with any needs that may arise during their shopping experience at Walmart. Walmart associates should attempt to provide assistance to customers with disabilities and in doing so, should openly and politely engage the customers. If the Walmart associate is unsure how best to provide assistance, then the Wal-Mart associate should ask a management associate for assistance and/or the Walmart associate should ask the customer how he/she believes Walmart can be of assistance.

All Walmart Field associates receive training about customers with disabilities through a eLearning (Training) module. For newly hired associates, the module is to be completed within three (3) months of being hired. The module provides instruction on the following, among other things: the concept of accessible service, how to interact with customers with disabilities; how to use any equipment or devices available to help provide goods, services or facilities to people with disabilities; how to interact with people who use an assistive device or require the assistance of a service animal or support person; the process of providing feedback by a customer and the content of this policy.

Disruption of Services

In Ontario, if a store experiences a disruption of a service (whether planned or not) that may impact a customer with a disability, a notice will be posted at the Courtesy Desk and at the location of the disruption to alert customers of the disruption. The notice will advise of the location of the disruption, the reason for the disruption, how long the disruption is expected to last and a description of alternative facilities or services available (if any).

Provision of Feedback

In Ontario, a notice will be posted at the Courtesy Desk indicating the various ways in which a customer with a disability may provide feedback about his/her shopping experience at Walmart. These include, but are not limited to, speaking directly to a manager, contacting the National Customer Relations team or filling out a customer service survey. A similar notice will be posted for online shoppers.

Provision of accessible formats and communication supports

Walmart will provide alternative communications format and communication supports upon request. Please contact us at cacompliance@email.wal-mart.com. We will respond in a timely manner.

Availability of Policy and Notices

If a customer with a disability requests a copy of this policy and/or any of the notices below, a copy should be provided in a format that accommodates the customer’s disability.

Responsibilities:

All Associates will:
 Understand and comply with the expectations of The Customers with Disabilities Policy
 Comply with all Walmart policies, standards and procedures, and complete all training applicable to their position
 Ask questions where appropriate to ensure they understand and abide by Walmart’s expectations relating to conduct and job performance

Management will:
 Communicate to Associates expectations relating to Customers with Disabilities, including the expectations of Walmart’s policies, standards and procedures
 Seek guidance from Human Resources, as required, when determining how to apply this Policy or related standards

Communication:

This Policy will be communicated during Associate and management orientations and when updated.

Enforcement

Failure to follow this Policy or the Processes related to it will result in discipline up to and including immediate termination.

Web Accessibility

What is Web Accessibility?

Web Accessibility ensures that those with disabilities are able to navigate and interact with our website in a way that is convenient and comfortable for them. This includes menu navigation tabbing, video transcripts and captions, contrasting and much more.

What is Walmart.ca’s accessibility plan?

As part of our commitment to Web accessibility, we created detailed accessibility plan for our customers and associates, both in stores and online. You can read about it here: Accessibility Plan for Walmart Canada

What are Walmart.ca’s standards for Web Accessibility?

We are in the process of adhering to government-regulated compliance standards: Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, level A and AA guidelines. These guidelines are developed with individuals and organizations all over the world to ensure a single shared standard for Web accessibility.

This is an ongoing course of action for us, and our standards will continue to evolve alongside changes to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines as well as developments in technology.

Accessibility Plan For Walmart Canada

Multi-Year Accessibility Plan for Walmart Canada

Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)

This 2014-2021 accessibility plan outlines the commitments and actions that Walmart Canada (Walmart) will put in place to improve opportunities for people with disabilities. This plan will be reviewed and updated at least once every five years.

Statement of Commitment

Walmart is committed to treating all people in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence. We believe in integration and equal opportunity. We are committed to meeting the needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner, and will do so by preventing and removing barriers to accessibility and meeting accessibility requirements, especially as they relate to the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

Policies

Walmart has implemented a Customers with Disabilities policy that applies to all stores in Canada to ensure that customers with disabilities are treated with respect and dignity in their shopping experience at Walmart.

Walmart has implemented a Duty to Accommodate policy that applies to all associates in Canada to ensure that associates do not face barriers to working or continuing to work because of disabilities.

Accessible Emergency Information

Walmart is committed to providing its customers with publicly available emergency information in an accessible way upon request. Emergency procedure information is available to visitors of Walmart’s Home Office. Walmart also provide associates the opportunity to prepare individualized emergency response information plans to assist in the event of an emergency.

Training

Walmart has provided computer-based training to all of its associates on the subject of customers with disabilities and Walmart will ensure that the training remains current at all times.

Walmart will provide training to associates on applicable accessibility laws and on human rights legislation as it relates to people with disabilities. Training for current associates will be provided by January 1, 2015 and will be updated and provided on an on-going basis.

Kiosks

Walmart will consider the needs of people with disabilities when procuring or acquiring self-service kiosks. Walmart will identify areas of its business in which kiosks are used and coordinate with its vendors and suppliers to ensure that appropriate accessibility features (technical, structural, access path, etc.) are included in the design of any future purchased kiosks.

Information and Communications

Walmart is committed to meeting the communication needs of people with disabilities.

Walmart is currently in the process of updating its websites and content on those sites to conform with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, Level A and Level AA by January 1, 2021.

Walmart will take the following steps to ensure existing feedback processes are accessible to people with disabilities upon request by January 1, 2015: assess current forms of company communication, consider accessibility requirements when creating new forms of communication, make appropriate changes and accommodations, ensure customers and associates are aware of how to participate in providing and receiving a response to feedback.

Walmart will take the following steps to make sure all publicly available information is made accessible upon request by January 1, 2016: assess all forms of information provided to the public and determine if there is anything that would make it hard for someone with a disability to read, see, hear or understand and establish processes for ensuring alternate formats are available in a timely manner.

Employment

Walmart is committed to fair and accessible employment practices.

Walmart will accommodate people with disabilities during the recruitment, assessment and hiring processes and during employment. Walmart will review current recruitment policies, job descriptions, processes and communications and amend as necessary to reflect required integrated accessibility standards.

Walmart will develop or revise as required individual accommodation plans and return-to-work policies for associates who have been absent due to a disability.

Walmart will review performance management, career development and re-deployment processes and amend as required to ensure the accessibility needs of associates with disabilities are taken into account in connection with these processes.

Walmart will take the opportunity to identify and take any necessary steps to prevent and remove other accessibility barriers impacting employment.

Design of Public Spaces

Walmart will work toward meeting the Accessibility Standards for the Design of Public Spaces when building or making major modifications to public spaces which can include accessible off-street parking, ramps, sidewalks, entrances and service-related elements like service counters, check-out lines, waiting areas and washrooms.

Your opinions matter to us and to other shoppers. In fact, we want to collect as much of your feedback through product Ratings & Reviews, and Questions & Answers as we can — favourable and unfavourable — and we’ll publish them directly on our site.

Product Ratings & Reviews and Questions & Answers (including text, photos and videos) help us improve our products, our product description pages, and the shopping experience. Sharing your valuable first-hand knowledge can help guide fellow shoppers towards the right product to fit their needs.

We welcome all opinions and encourage you, our shoppers, to share your feedback — both the good and the bad.

And to be transparent, we collect Ratings & Reviews from:

  • Shoppers who have purchased a product on Walmart.ca and have received an email following their order, asking them to submit their feedback
  • Shoppers who are browsing through product pages and decide to leave a review on a product they have previously purchased/tried)
  • Shoppers who have received free products or samples as incentives to provide reviews (we’ve even added a ‘Received Free Product’ badge so you can easily identify these reviews)
  • Shoppers who are Walmart Associates, who have tried the product or purchased it with employee discount (look for the ‘Associate’ badge to identify these reviews)

We also want to be the source for real answers and to fill in the missing gaps. The answers to the questions shoppers ask come from many places including:

  • Fellow shoppers who may have purchased/tried the product and are using their experience to answer
  • Fellow shoppers who may not have purchased the product but are using information on the product description page to answer
  • Product experts from the brand/supplier (these responses are identified with their company logo)
  • Walmart Customer Care Associates

We have partnered with Bazaarvoice Inc., who moderates all user-generated content (Ratings & Reviews and Questions & Answers) to ensure the content is authentic and meets both Walmart guidelines and Bazaarvoice Authenticity Policy. Approved moderated content is then displayed on Walmart.ca within 72 hours of submission. Should content not pass through moderation, it will not be posted.
