These gel pens made decorating my cookies so much fun and they are so easy to use.  These are the perfect icing pens to use when I am working with my Special needs students because there is no mess and are easy for them to use.  A great baking addition for me.

I enjoyed using these decorating products.   I found the icing colours covered well and they were a nice opaque finish.   The candy sprinkles were fun and I loved the colour assortment.  I had much better results with these decorating products than with my home made icings and food colouring.   I would buy these because it made decorating so much easier.

Makes Decorating Easy

If you are a baker and decorate your cookies or cakes with writing or smaller detail these pens are a must. Writes just like a pen and colours in your smaller areas like a crayon. These would be great to get the kids involved in decorating their own masterpieces.

Icing gel pen

I received this product for free in exchange for my honest opinion. The pens are very easy to use. I decorate some sugar cookies with them. It was a fun activity with my kids. The result was very good. However as it uses artificial colors, it should be used in moderation.

Easy to use!

I like the variety of colours in the gel. I did find it hard to use, you had to shake it well before you put it on the cookies and I just found that it wasn't easy to manipulate, and it kind of made a mess when I tried to fix it . To be honest, I am not a baker or very good at decorating things so perhaps someone who is more experienced would find it easier to use. I just had a hard time with it.

Gel fun

This product was received right by the holidays, so I could test them out on our Christmas cookies. I find that the gel pens are too runny, and don't dry quickly. It was messy, but truth be told, it is a lot better than pipping with children. It is contained in a tube, so easier to hold.

Writing on Cookies!

The tubes were smaller than I thought they would be, and harder to use. After shaking them I tested out on two waffles to see what I could come up with. I find the gel to be very hard to work with on delicate stencil work. The icing came out very uneven and ended up with a lot of blobs.

Gel Pens

Well, I guess the idea is good for kids' decorating.  I would not use these colours and would prefer making something myself with my own choice of flavours and colouring agent.  Cochineal (which is used for red colour - aka carmine or E120) is a crushed insect, which mean this product is not suitable for vegetarian/vegan, kosher, and some other dietary restrictions.

Buggy

The icing pens require a specific amount of pressure and weren't always easy to squeeze out exactly to write very well. There also weren't any instructions, so I didn't shake it up at first and do to separation I believe, the different parts of the mix would pour outnin blobs. It was quite difficult to xontrol even after being shaken up. I was trying to write on a moist cake, so perhaps it would've gone on easier on a cookie or something else.

Great concept but not easy to execute

I tried to apply this product slowly to get a fine line.  First it came out clear and watery so I shook and squeezed the tube well.  When I tried again it was still clear at first then the color came out a little thick.  It would sometimes come out in a big gush. It was frustrating to not  get a nice line or add detail with more control. The colors did not show up very well either except white was pretty good.

No control

We received these gel pens as a sample from hometestersclub. 

From the get go the experience with using them was horrible and messy. When we first opened the pen it was watery/runny. No where on the box gave any prep instructions so we tried kneading and shaking the pens. It helped a little but the consistency of the gel was not great even after our attempts to make it useable. Both Kids and adults didn't have luck getting the gel to come
Out of the tube smoothly enough to make any sort of design. This coming from an experienced adult that makes cookies with designs with ease.
