Description & Features+

Calma is a revolutionary new feeding system – designed exclusively for breastmilk. Switching from breast to bottle and back to breast has never been easier. With Calma, your baby can finally apply the same feeding behaviour learned at the breast, when consuming expressed breastmilk.

How it works: Just like when breastfeeding, your baby latches onto the teat of Calma by creating suction. Once suction has been established, your baby uses their tongue to increase or decrease the level of suction. When suction is at baseline, milk will not flow through Calma. However, when a baby increases the level of suction, Calma allows the milk to pass through the teat into the baby’s mouth.

Ratings & Reviews+

Calma Solitaire is rated 2.5714 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from I'm not sure if this nipple is really all that much better then a normal nipple. I have a baby that is strictly breast fed and after numerous tries she never latched onto this. In theory it is a good idea, but it didn't work out for us.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Goodbye Nipple Confustion I am nursing my 3rd child and wish I had this product with the other two. The mechanism of this nipple was proven to me when I found my son couldn't use it. Turns out that he was tongue tied and unable to apply the pressure to make it work. We got a frenectomy and now he actually prefers this nipple over the normal ones. He is tiny and doesn't like fast flow, so he likes this. (This nipple does not work well with thick formula) I can feel a difference in his "biting" habbit when he uses a regular nipple. This one forces him to be much gentler when returning to breast.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Daughter loves it! At 3 mths tried this, I exclusively pump and feed and with this nipple she no longer chokes or wastes milk because she can only get out what she's able to swallow. She's also decided to refuse the other nipples we were using had 2 calma included with the pumps I purchased upset I now have to purchase more because of the expense but she's less gassy and my hard efforts aren't running down her chin.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible nipple My daughter is exclusively breastfed & I bought this cuz it's supposed to be most like the breast for times when she's being looked after & needs pumped breastmilk from a bottle. The nipple is horrible! It's more like a straw than a nipple & my baby couldn't latch at all cuz her tongue just kept getting stuck in the enormous hole. Seriously what were they thinking? If this had a normal nipple it would be awesome cuz she's latched on soothers & a regular slow flow nipple before, but choked due to getting too much milk. This one is absolutely useless.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Depends on baby Just like we all have a favourite coffee cup, babies have a favourite nipple. Our oldest hated this nipple, but my 5month old loves it. My suggestion is try the one included with the pump to see if the cost is justifiable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from My baby hates it My baby was exclusively breastfed for the first three weeks and this was the first nipple we tried when we nended to start bottle feeding. He hates it, he will not latch on and now just screams every time I put it in his mouth. (But he will happily suck a cheap, generic bottle.) This has made feedings frustrating and stressful for mom and baby.
