Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok, but disappointed I bought this set to use to communicate with my wife while driving a moving truck while she drove our suburban. Wanted the WX feature for storm warnings while we drove in remote areas during storm season. At 1st radios did very well and on flat terrain we could be 5+ miles apart with little interference. But as the days passed the performance of one of the radios began to decline. It would power off during transmitting as if the battery was not charged and reception reduced to 500yrds. I believe perhaps the battery quality was poor. The other radio would receive other transmissions while passing industrialized areas that were miles from road. They were using similar radio sets. I was able to communicate to them miles after passing complexes. I am a long time and loyal customer to Cobra products and I have always used their products over others. The walkies are designed well. I placed regular AA batteries in and it seemed to help with the issue. I returned the walkies and traded them for a handheld cobra 40 channel CB it works great and like it better now I can communicate with other drivers on the road. I should had gone that route 1st.
