Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fitbit One RFitbit I did read the reviews and was adamant but I finally decided to buy the Fitbit 1 because is the only fitness tracker that included stair levels and was not a wristband. I can use my iPad to record the info for I don't have a smartphone. I like the idea that I can attach it to my bra or pants. I do a lot of dishes or cleaning, I don't want to take it off and on all of the time. It is not waterproof but water repellent. If it rains on your walk just put it in you pocket or attach it under your shirt, underwear or to your bra. I decided to buy this product at Walmart you get free delivery to your door and a 14 day return policy if you don't like the product. You can return it to the store with all of the packaging which makes life easier. I got the package within 5 days and when I opened it up It had the four pieces. There was a small piece of paper but no product manual. I was not happy with that. The piece of paper told me to go on line to retrieve the product manual. This Forces you to go on line and after going through the various steps in their website I finally found the product manual and saved it in my iPad. Thank goodness for that. The manual is very clear. The charging is easy, lasts about 14 days but only can be done on the computer. First you have to set it up the app first. Which I did on my iPad. Here is a default set up. On line You can set up your account, fill in yours stats and goals and you can also change the metric to the imperial system. You can fill in any name which is limited by only by so many characters long. I use a fake name which I like better. There I found it can also talk on your Smartphone to you durning your workout to encourage you. I turned this off since I don't have a Smartphone. Next I noticed, on the actual device notice it sent me pop-up texts. Saying- way to go, I'm ready. Ucandoit, Let's go Summer and lots more. This made me feel better and nice to have some encouragement. It said, I'm ready in the AM and it seems to go by the time of day and whether you have started your exercising yet. It can tell when you are holding it and when you are looking at the device's screen. After a week I still get different sayings. I actually look for them now. On the device you push one button and see all of the various data details on it. Such as your flower, date, steps, flights, distance you walked and how much energy you burned. The bigger your flower the closer you are to your exercising goals. The full flower will show 10 petals. If you sit around for an amount of time the flower starts to disappear. This is an unique way of measuring and telling you to get moving. Easy display that tells your progress quickly. If it is connected to a phone I don't know what it does there. Might talk to you and say get moving. Or maybe vibrate as well. I am not sure. The Manuel also tells you where to wear your tracker, how to use the silent alarm, restarting, charging and how to use it when sleeping as well. Not sure if I listed everything. I have not worn it sleeping as of yet. You can also get the more info if you connect it to their weight scale they sell. Such as fat %. I thought I would compare it to my iPod Nano. I decided to walk steady for 20 minutes. I put the Fitbit on my left front middle waistband and the iPod on my right front middle waist band. I figured this would be a more accurate reading with both being in the same area but one on each side of my body. Conclusions. I tried twice and Both devices differed by 5 or by 8 steps. When I walked around the home and count steps that seemed to differ on both devices. As for stats and graphs there are plenty. There is a lot to see there by day, week, month and even year. I had to be on the computer to see this. You can change you dashboard to show what you want on top and down. The food input is easy but for certain items you have to be very precise in how to find the right item. The do have the nutritional info as on the food products there to help you find the right item. They do include restaurant food. I have not checked the actual websites if they are correct the foods from home all are. If the food product is not listed you can add it. I also think if you are smart enough and eat the same meal everyday you can combine all the ingredients into one give it an unique name and add it to the list. I want to try this for my breakfast. Calorie intake and burn off stats are also recorded and you always know exactly where you stand all of the time. You can plan you meals on this. You do get badges and can add other friends that use Fitbit to compare notes. In the end I have this device for about one week and still finding new facts about it. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to any one. It is like a personal trainer to me. Fitbit 1 really can help simplify your life and help you achieve your goals. It just fun to use but time consuming.
