Ratings & Reviews+

FoodSaver Deli Containers, ½ Qt 2 Pack is rated 4.048 out of 5 by 250.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Long Time Foodsaver User I've used Foodsaver for deep freezing for 10 years and I've been very satisfied. I have an old V420 manual unit still going strong. When I came across the freshsaver concept I opted to try it out. I'd been using Foodsaver bags for cheese in the refrigerator which is sort of clumsy and something quick like the freshsaver was attractive. I charged the unit for 30 hours and gave it a go on the cheese lightly wrapped in waxe paper with the small ziploc bag provided. It works great. I also used the bags for sealing more greasy items I first placed in plastic (non freshsaver) containers. I put the lid on lightly before placing in ziplock bag and let the vacuum seal the lid shut with the vacuum of the bag. This is tricky. You should place your hand under the valve of the bag as you position the vacuum on top to get the right connection - takes practise but works. I haven't had a bag loose it's seal yet after multiple seals - they are heavy duty is seems. I used the deli container that came with and using the adapter had no issue except for one time it wouldn't seal. I discovered a small particle similar to a small flick of dish cloth on the seal which was enough to cause a problem. I bought four more at this site and tested them all. One had a piece of the seal tab that had been punched out by manufacturing left under tab preventing a seal. After three weeks of use, the containers are becoming more difficult to seal. Reason seems that the containers may be loosing their shape from temperature change. They still seal but you have to trouble shoot by holding down a suspect corner of the container to get the seal started. Once sealed, they seem to hold. Note: I have a canister for use with my V420 that has _never_ held a seal for more than 2 days since I bought it. One thing I'm concerned about with the freshsaver system is the lack of reference to food safety. Vacuum sealed freezer preservation is straight forward and safe, you seal it and store it in the freezer. Storing vacuum sealed product in the refrigerator is fraught with risks if guidelines not followed. Primarily, you refrigerator must be below 40F or 5C otherwise a couple nasty organisms can form with reduced oxygen storage. Lots of people don't have a clue where there temperature is at - and it varies among fridge shelves. Stay safe!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Seals DO NOT Hold!!! I am a die hard FoodSaver user but I must say this containers are horrible. The seals do not hold. I bought these because I use a lot of brick style cheese and wanted to keep them from getting moldy between uses. First off they are very shallow and when sealed they stick to the cheese and make score lines in the cheese. Also once sealed if bumped on top the seal breaks. I must say from the picture it looks like they now have larger recessed seals to solve this problem but mine are not and I wont use the 4 I have because they are not reliable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't Buy I love my FoodSaver but these containers are delicate, fragile, and overpriced for what you receive. The seals are unreliable and they crack very easily.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Food saver containers I guess I did not read the fine print when I purchased these containers. I thought they could be used in the freezer; that is what i bought them for.
