We've had these same gates to control where our dogs can go in our house at different times. This gate is a replacement because a new rescue dog chewed one of the old ones. Even if you give your dogs the full run of your house all the time, they're helpful for keeping them off the kitchen floor when you're mopping or away from an outside door when you're bringing things in and out and you don't want the dogs outside. We have two of these gates in full-time use and love them.

I love this gate. Looks beautiful with my banister. It looks like it belongs there, not like an eyesore like other gates. The little latch to open being on the side it a little weird, but makes it look nice. Very helpful paper guideline to tape to the wall to help with where to put the screws for installation.

It is just what what is needed to keep an 18 month old from getting into trouble. Sturdy enough to limit his exploring, and gives us a sense of security. It matches our oak railings.

Looks and works great.

I needed a top of the stairs gate for my elderly mother. I ordered this one plus 2 others hoping that one would work for my situation. Unfortunately, this gate was not the right one for the job.

Very pretty gate....

This gate is beautiful and so easy to use. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is that it would be awesome if it was more easily adjustable. It's a great quality.

Gorgeous and functional

The gate is very nice to keep my dogs off the steps. But it took my husband and father multiple hours to put it up. The directions are useless and you are going to have to buy better hardware.

very nice esthetic appearance

I like the look of it, however I don't like where the handle is position to open it, unless you just lift up on the gate, squeezing the latch is a little tricky. Also screws sent along with the gate didn't screw into the predrilled holes which made it difficult to assemble.

pretty sturdy

I bought this gate knowing my doorway was narrower than specified. It was easy to modify the wood with a circular saw to make it work. The design allows this to be a possibility even though it will void the warrantee.

The plastic hinges are ok, but the latch is really poor. Mine might be defective but I installed it, and it works well enough. In the future I might need to replace it.

Nice wooden gate, but pastic parts are poor

The instructions are terrible. Very flimsy in the middle. Suppose to be used at top of stairs but design is not practical for this use. Matches the stairs nicely, for that I am very pleased.

Looks better than expected

The way you are supposed to put together is very flimsy. I had to drill holes and put in screws to hold together.The latch, you might as well not even have one on there, as all you have to do to open is just lift up on gate and it opens. after about one day our dog figured out how to open.

The gate is way over priced for what you get
