This was a purchase for my 7yr old son for Christmas. He absolutely loves it. He says it's the best race car set! He and my 12 yr old assembled it with no help from me.

My son's review

I gave this to my 5 year old son and he loves to play with it. He was so excited and even got his dad and sister to play with him on it daily. It has lots of part to put together, but one you have the loop setup, it's addicative to play with. The cars race on the loop with such speed that you want to play with it over and over again.

Great for Hot Wheels Lover

Got this for my son who is 7. The box comes with one car, and the playset. Required 4 D Batteries which is not included. Setup is pretty simple and the parts are either numbered or lettered for easy identification. However, it can be hard to see the characters. Once setup, turn on the motor and you're ready to go. Fair warning, the motor is a bit loud. Other from that, it stayed on the track most of the time, unless they crash into each other, which my son loved to do.

This is a great set, easy to put together and relatively sturdy. Lots of fun for my 5yo. Motor is a bit loud and does get annoying after a while and also one of the connections on the ramp is a bit bumpy, so car can fly off. One of the cars in much slower than the other, so not too much of a challenge. Overall thou, I do recommend it, since my son loves it anyway.

It is a gift for my great grandson and hasn't been opened as yet.

Its complex to assemble with so many small parts. Once you assemble it is big track that won't fit into toys organizer or usual toy storage. I had to keep it as is because of the complex and time consuming reassembly. good for kids who like big tracks and into such stuff.

I was really happy when he unwrapped it.
Building the tracks required the help of daddy since he was a bit too young to read the instructions.

With fresh batteries, this thing works fine with an adequate vehicule.

However, it is really noisy, and the batteries don't last really long (6 D's batteries if I remember right).
As soon as the batteries start to "loose power", the motor doesn't spin fast enough to get any vehicule all the way through the loop.

They should have an option of using a power supply to circumvent this problem.

Also, as any tracks, it takes a lot of space, so right now, it is back to its box on a shelf in the garage...

Dear Walmart: The Hot Wheels Mega Loop Mayhem Set was purchased for my grandson as a Christmas present. Since my grandson has not received his grandmother's Christmas present, I am not able to review or rate this Hot Wheels item. I am certain my grandson will love it!

This thing looks awesome, but is a major pain to put together. The instructions are pointless! Only certain cars will work with this track, and even those don't work well. The lever that has to be pulled back to shoot the cars around the track doesn't lift the "flap" enough to allow the cars out. Don't buy this one, it's not worth the trouble.
