Ratings & Reviews+

Mainstays Laptop Cart is rated 3.734375 out of 5 by 64.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from You can make it perfect This product is amazingly inexpensive; you'd be foolish not to expect some flimsiness. But you can make it perfect! It's fantastic. Rolls really nicely under my couch/bed. I jammed some thick wires in the angle rotation device to make it firm as a rock. The purported mouse pad area (flat) is re-purposed as a super-handy tea / notes area. My mouse pad sits on the slanted area. By flipping my mouse pad upside down it achieves enough friction to keep the mouse from sliding off without overly affecting its movement. A wee bit of anti-slip weave from the dollar store keeps my mouse pad in place. Absolute kismet the way there is a gap between the flat portion and the pen/lip -- My wrist loves to slip into that gap when using the mouse. A bit of bent wire lets me hang my headset on the vertical bar, right where I want it, ready to Skype. My power cord is velcro'ed along the bar and then unobtrusively snakes under the couch to the power outlet. I can move the table with no dangling wires and it's become a discreet powered-table! [I do have a spare power supply/cord in my laptop bag for trips. The one on the table is permanent.] The pen holder is not a pen holder, it is a joyous finger hold to pull/push the table. It all just works and *feels* great. Should I ever sit up, I can rotate the table parallel to the couch and eat a snack off of the flat area, like a real human! I do wish they'd doubled up on the holes for vertical adjustment. Some folks might want it a *half* click higher. Congrats though on using holes and not a friction-based height adjustment, those never work. Use: Every day, all day, constantly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with this product. I use it with my recliner... being a lazy type this works out great as I can just pop the lid down on my laptop & watch tv, my bird feeders in the garden, talk, etc. :) Addressing some of the con's mentioned here: I think stability & 'bounce" may have to do with the type of flooring one's using the cart on... mine's on thick carpet & I haven't had a problem with either, however, it doesn't roll easily because of the carpeting - I doubt there's a way to design a rolling cart like this that would be problem free on all types of floors. I use a wireless mouse on the arm of my recliner, works great there... the table area has lots of room for things: DVD's, flash drives, papers, mugs, etc., I hang my headphones off the edge of it. The tilt going in either direction is great: can be used on either side of recliner, chair, bed... Also excellent for book or magazine reading as well as for using my tablet sometimes. Assembly instructions are unusually comprehensible & well done - an A+ to the manufacturer for that. It does all that it says it will at a very good price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works well with my Lazyboy chair I was looking for something to bring my laptop up to eye level while I am sitting in my lazy boy chair and this works perfectly. It adjusts to the perfect height for my laptop to sit in the 45 degree angled position. I use a separate wireless mouse and keyboard ... the keyboard on my lap and the mouse on the arm of the lazyboy. The stand is a little rickety when being rolled out the way and then back again whenever I have to put the footrest down but when it's in use it sits there fine at the perfect height. The black particle board that the top is made from picks up dust very easily but that doesn't bother me. I like it. It does the job that I wanted.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The Truth about This Laptop Cart I bought this laptop cart after reading several of the reviews on this very page. So i fully knew what i was getting with its slight wobble and issues for $38. But after taking care to put extra thought when putting it together so as to overcome some of the problems others have experienced (but still gave 5 star ratings) i can honestly say this product is not ready for prime time. Even with slight modifications to help make it sturdy i find that it still wobbles too extremely to honestly recommend. Any slight tough on the laptop keyboard or even just the movement of your hand on the mouse pad area makes this thing wobble around. My poor screensaver on the laptop never has a chance to put the screen to sleep since the vibrations of walking disturb this cart too! I tried using wires and extra support to make it less shaky with varying results. But seems silly i have to put more into it than what it claims One plus is the remarkably easy and well thought out instructions manual. Has to be one of the best i've ever seen. People should take note on who the author of this instructions. Don't buy this unit unless you are prepared to feel concerned that it is going to fall apart on the slightest tough. And for goodness sake dont lay anything too heavy on it. I am returning for a refund shortly but will do some more tests to see if i can stablize it at least to a point i can be fine with losing $38. Likely wont be successful though.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very poor designed product Totally disappointed the way this product was designed. Weakness is it gives less support to where you put your laptop. It also doesn't make sense that it provides more support to where you put your mouse. It looks ugly and devastated after few weeks so I won't buy this product again as it is totally waste of money. No I don't recommend buying this product.
