Ratings & Reviews+

Marcy Combo Smith SM4008 Gym Machine is rated 4.05 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Machine The delivery was fast. The product came in three boxes. 1 large and 2 smaller boxes. Used a dolly to move boxes, I was by myself at the time. The machine was well built, Good welds on all the sections. Lots of fasteners. A person should have a good set of wrenches, sockets, socket Allen keys and a tape measure. fasteners where well organized and marked. Takes about 10 hours to build. machine assembled is 85 inches high and 84 inches wide with the Olympic bar. Instructions very easy to understand. I have had no concerns with using this machine. Worth the price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible Would give negative starts if I could. Horrible/Negligent customer service on MPEX's part. I bought this on June 23 and it was delivered on June 27. On June 28 I called MPEX - the manufacturer - as two of the pieces were defective. The screw holes were improperly drilled and I could not complete the assembly. On July 7 the new parts arrived - they were both the wrong parts and for some reason they sent me 3 parts instead of 2, all of which were wrong. So another call to MPEX and another promise to send me the correct parts...As of August 9, I'm still waiting. So on August 8 I call MPEX and they admit the parts never shipped, they claim they don't know why, and they will email me that afternoon to let me know what is going on. On August 9 I call and say there was no email. They tell me the person I need to speak with is on the phone and will call me right back...still waiting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I freekin LOVE it! It is a lot to assemble, and you have be a hands on type of person. the instructions do get tuff with the cable system. I had to take a break and step back for a while when I got to this section. then had to start just going mostly by the picture at this point. I assembled it on my own, spent a few hours on a Friday night when I got it, then a few hours finishing it the next day, and then was mentally tired (kind of like a long car ride) I got lucky that everything as n good shape, the box was not torn up or anything. I had it shipped to the store. so fedex or ups did not have a chance to beat it up. I first tried buying a bowflex. It was the stupidest excuse for a gym I ever tried. So I returned it the NEXT day and ended up getting this. I love this thing. I can do any and every exercise I ever wanted to. I get great "real" workouts, with Real weights. Not resistance bands or rods. And I got it on walmart for $500. plus tax. An amazing deal. The whole unit is very solid, and built very well. I have rigged a bar across the top to the two top cables in order to be able to pull them at the same time from the middle. Becouse as with most cable systems you lose weight from the pully systems. And you can also buy other types of bars or accessories to attach to the cables. I am in the process of making a board with wheels to set on the floor and also be able to use it as a rowing machine. And I use it for doing squats safely also. I just love it. It does almost everything.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Outraged!!! I usually don't Write reviews, but this one is a must! I made this purchase and had it shipped to the store for pick up. First, I had to call about my order because by looking at the tracking number it was delivered. I called a couple days later thinking they may need time to process it or whatever. Come to find out the order was just sitting there because they didn't know who it belonged to. Then, I get the equipment home, carved out time on a Sunday to start this. Start pulling the pieces out and reading the instructions. The very first piece to the cage where you would insert the top rail was damaged to the point where you couldn't insert the top rail. Unhappy camper!! I call the customer service line on the following Monday. Fine and dandy they will ship you a replacement piece it will take 12-48 hrs to process and you will get a tracking number e-mailed. Well, it's Friday I call back because I haven't received a tracking number. I get, well this piece is on back order and it won't be available for 6-8 wks. Im very unhappy with the customer service I received. I'm sure it is a great product and I was pumped to start working out on it, but that won't happen for another 2-3 months! I wish I could attach pictures because I don't even know how it passed inspection.
