Ratings & Reviews+

Ooma Telo VOIP Phone System is rated 4.3921 out of 5 by 1,423.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great idea and works very well Excellent box and have cancelled my MaBill service. You need at least 256kb upload speed on your ISP or forget going this route! Service is not free due to $3.98 per month in 911, taxes and other fees. Caller ID does not include name ID and 911 notification is NOT included. These are all part of the Premier service at $9.95 per month extra.
Pick a local number from their list or port your old one to Ooma for $39.95. If you are in a small town it may not be possible and you will have to pick one from a larger city area. One feature not mentioned is you can call home from other countries on an iPad or smart phone within Wi-Fi areas. App is free for IOS and $10 for Android. It works really well from Portugal!
Ooma website has lots of information on your service including voicemail files online. Listen to voicemails from anywhere in the world. With an add-on Bluetooth adapter your cell phone calls can be picked up on your house phone extensions. Recommended!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy set up! I have owned this now for several months. Everything is easy to use and set up is a breeze. I hard wired my Ooma into my Router to avoid any interference. We only use the basic Ooma for $4 a month. The Premier has a lot of bells and whistles that you may or may not want. I did like the feature of receiving a text when a voicemail is left at home. Ooma gave us a very inexpensive option as my wife wanted to keep the home phone. Which we needed for our home alarm. During a recent power outage, we learned that we need to have a battery back up for our Router/modem and our Ooma so it works when the power is out. You can always fall back to your cell phone, but if you have a home monitored alarm you may want to get the battery back up. I bought a Cyberpower from FS for $50. My wife complains that when she is talking to her sister (who also has Oooma) that they can't hear each other and the call is crackly. Well, I think they are both crazy as I use it all the time with no issues. My Sisiter-in-law calls a million times a day and I am usually the one who has to answer the phone and I don't have a problem hearing her. Ooma is a great way to save money and still have a home phone system. Enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from the answer to communication very easy to set up, and if u have good internet service, it works like a charm. service people very helpful and easy to get ahold of. sure beats Canada's telecommunications services hands down both in price and services. Thanks Ooma.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cheap, but can't count on it I love that I no longer have a landline bill. However, the service is so spotty that I simply can't count it. I've lost count of the number of times the audio transmission has cut out for my listeners while I was speaking. I work from home frequently, and I can't have an unreliable system. Extremely disappointed. That said, there are no ongoing bills.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy ooma now! Pro: Sound quality is excellent, better than a SAT phone on deployment, and I save $50.00 every month. Con: I have to reboot ooma every time the power goes out in my town, but all it takes is unpluging ooma, for five min. Once my modem has reestablished power and is operating normal, plug ooma power supply back in. Overall: I wish i had switched to ooma sooner. I am not an employe for ooma, nor am i getting paid for this review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Affordable and it works! I was so sick of paying $40 + taxes a month for a plain jane landline, no display, just access to the line. Someone at work talked about Ooma Telo and said it was cheap and it worked great with their cable internet. I have Rural High Speed and it works perfectly.A little delay but not enough to keep my landline. I have had the Ooma Telo for the last 5 months now and WOW! I am very impressed. I hooked my original phone jack wiring in reverse to the Ooma Telo and the sound is very clear. Fax works great too. No long distance for North America, I took the bigger package that has a second line, call display, call answer, call waiting, the works. It works out to about $12 a month tax included. In all the Ooma Telo is well worth the purchase. Plus I was able to keep my original phone number.
