Ratings & Reviews+

REC is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Inventive Spanish zombie virus survival tale This is the original 2007 Spanish version of the 2008 American remake entitled "Quarantine". "REC" is the superior film with a more sympathetic lead character and a greater sense of dread and fear than "Quarantine", although the two movies follow a similar plot in most respects and both share a "found footage" format. Having seen both, I would recommend "REC" over "Quarantine", although "REC" would be even more impressive if you have not already seen "Quarantine". This DVD has no special features, but the audio and picture are fine. I would suggest watching the film with its original Spanish audio rather than with English dubbing for a more authentic experience. "REC" is highly recommended to those looking for an inventive zombie virus survival tale. This was the first of four (to date) "REC" films and is by far the best one in the series (I would rate this DVD as five stars if it had additional bonus features).
