The headboard is elegant in black. It was easy to put together after I figured out the picture instructions. I am not good at assembling but I was able to put this together by myself. The headboard is good quality but not made for a lot of “rough” wear and tear. I gently handle and take excellent care of all my belongings. I think the headboard will last for for years.

The instructions state they are available but the nuts, bolts and washers were NOT included to attach the headboard to a metal bed frame.

I wanted a reasonable price headboard that didn’t look cheap and I am totally satisfied with my purchase.

I bought the headboard, nightstand, and chest of drawers from the South Shore SoHo Collection. I bought hardware to attach the headboard to the bed frame. The headboard is attached very securely to the bed frame. But I gave it a poor rating on meets expectations because the headboard hits the wall every time I get in and out of bed. I love the way it looks though.

I like this headboard a lot. The color is dark, very close to black. It looks nice and expensive.
It arrived fast and was packaged very well. It took 20 min to assemble. I used it for a queen bed. I did not attach it to the base, just put between the wall and the bed and it fits perfectly.

Very nice

Product was not too difficult to put together, but tightening the screws all the way was impossible with just the small tool included. I had to borrow a drill.
The head board does not fit on my bedframe, which was disappointing. After reading further, I found that it only fits on the SoHo frame. Beware. I made do by putting the bed on an angle in the corner of the room, but I worry that the headboard will not hold up to kids jumping on the bed. I guess you get what you pay for, eh?
Overall, product looks beautiful and I love the design. The color matches the picture pretty well, but it is a little more dark brown than actual black.

Looks good, but a little cheap

We have just purchased a Eastern King bed and had a hard time finding a headboard but I went online to Walmart and found the perfect headboard at a great great price !!! I read all the great reviews but was still a little aprehensive as to what I would actually get. I took advantage of the free shipping and it was delivered to us very quickly and took my husband only a few minutes to put it together. It does not come with the screws to conect to the frame but it did have the holes if you choose to connect it. That didnt matter to us because we just slid it in place and backed the mattress up to it against the wall. Perrfect !!!!

Beautiful Headboard For A King Size Bed

I bought this headboard for a spare bedroom that doesn't get used often at all. I bought it based on style and price. I did not expect to have to put it together in the manner in which it comes, but overall it wasn't a big deal. It took maybe 15 minutes, and I did it alone. It attached to my bed frame without modifications, I only had to provide the nut, bolt and washers. It looks great, but I probably won't take it with me when I move, as I don't think it would sustain through shipping. But overall it was in great condition, no packaging problems but it took FOREVER to get it shipped to the store. So overall..I'm fine with it.

You can't complain about the price

I recently moved and needed bedroom furniture so I looked online at wal-mart.com. I found this collection and fell in love with it. I purchased two nightstands, the headboard, and dresser. The nightstands weren't difficult to assemble but did take a little time to put together. I used wood glue as suggested in other reviews. The headboard was not that hard to put together at all. Quite easy actually. The only bad thing about it is that it is designed for the bed frame that you can purchase seperatly. I positioned it behind my bed in such a way that you can't even tell the difference. I have a metal frame. I would definetly recommend this collection to anyone!

worth the cost

Cheap, Cheap and did I say cheap? I bought this headboard as part of the 'bundle' w/the platform bed w/ storage drawers ... also horribly cheap. The instructions appear to not have been updated with any design changes - or perhaps they're still including old instructions? One of the boards was cracked in half when it got to my house, and even in perfect condition, there is no possible feasible way this headboard will attach to the bed-base - they simply aren't designed to be a 'set'. The bottoms of the drawers are cardboard - so much for putting ANYTHING in them. Go to a lumber yard and buy your own wood, it's just as inexpensive to build one that'll be sturdy.

Run away from this!

It's an affordable way to update a bed, it looks as shown in pic.

You will need a second hand to assemble it, put it together with your bed frame.

This is design for regular wooden bed frame, if you are attaching this to a metal bed frame, you'll need to buy 1-1/4" couple bolts at the hardware store to attach it. The kit only contains screws to screw it into a wooden bed frame.

you need to push the mattress up against the headboard and basically cram it against the wall so it wouldn't be wobbly.

Added a foam tape to the back (upper top edge) so it wont scratch the walls.

Once it was done and mounted, it looks nice!

for this money Nice but not the life time product

You have to go into this knowing that you are getting pressboard with a veneer. As long as you keep that in mind then you shoudln't be disappointed. It did come with a few small dings on it which were easily fixed with the "fix-it pen" or whatever they call it from the dresser, this is really just a black felt tip pen it seems so a sharpie would fill the same role. It was easy to put together, not all that heavy, and attached easily to my frame using the bolts that others have in their reviews (forget the size right now). It matches with the other pieces of the set, looks classy enough for me at this stage and helps finish off my bed. I like it and would recommend it.
