I got 12 Betta fishes. I purchased 12 of these. The  heaters all work good. They keep the temperature between 78 to 80 degrees :)

great product!

I bought this heater about 3 years ago (that's right 3years) from my local Walmart and it just keeps working perfectly never had any issues (it gets hot in the summer so I turn it off on really hot days it has a plug people use it) so after hearing all these bad reviews I must say ? How are you using it ? Are you just dissing a cheap product ? Because ever since this first Tetra it's all I've ever gotten unless it's unavailable for said tank size. But have one in my 20 gallon right now (the one for 20-whatever) and it works amazing so thank you tetra for makeing an amazing heater !!!

Amazing heater

Using in a 5 gallon tank, first one lasted 8 years before quitting. Now on my second. Beats the larger old fashioned units that had to be adjusted and watched for accidental setting changes. No need to play around with controls it automatically keeps the water at the little ones favorite temperature. Excellent unit

Aquarium heater

Bought this for the 1.5 gallon Tetra aquarium. It keeps the water at 79F according to my thermometer. Attaches to the inside of the tank with a suction cup. My only concern is that I don't like the idea of the power chord going straight from the wall into the water.

Works so far

I have it for a month and it is keeping my 5 gallon tank at 79 degree which is good for my Betta. There is no temperature adjustment. It starts up and switch off automatically at 79. I don't know if it will be efficient for bigger tanks.

Good price

Came with a full 10 gallon tank set-up and worked fine for a while. Noticed algal bloom last week and went to clean it and the water was in the mid-90's. Lost all but 3 fish and a bunch of plants.

Received this item and it doesn't even work so not impressed at all.  I sent an email to Walmart didn't hear anything back

Not worth the money

I am a Beta Fish owner and I tried this product recently, it says it'll automatically bring your tank temp. levels to 78 Fahrenheit (perfect temp. for tropical fish) but it only brought mine up to 60 Fahrenheit! Which is way too cold for my Beta fish!

Horrible Heater!

I bought this three months ago for my 3 gallon tank with a beta fish and snails. It's always kept the temperature from 75 to 78° but now that it's winter I've seen that it stays from 73 and almost in the 60s now the thermometer is working fine and I know that my pets don't like the temperature because it is too cold. My snail no longer wants to come out of it shell and my beta fish has become more inactive. they get fed regularly and I did a water test and it is perfectly fine but the heater seems to be in active I am only a high school student with no job so I can't afford much of a new heater that is why I'm very concerned. Not to mention when I first got it the suction cup still doesn't even work.  I just have to hang it
