Ratings & Reviews+

TomTom VIA 4.3" 1415M GPS Navigator is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Absolutely worth it! Slow keyboard/touchscreen, but excellent navigation/directions. This GPS makes driving so much easier. Bonus - I paid $30 less than a major competitor's price! Thank you

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Tomtom is not user friendly GPS Pros: I had a 6", 5" GPSs before and found they just blocked my view when driving and can be distracted. I like the 4", it's hidden in the windshield and when I need to look, the marked road on 4" is the same as the bigger size GPS just less trees and buildings on the sides which I don't really care. It's simple to use, type in the location and it gets you there easily and has the speed limit to remind you which is a great thing. Clear voice to direct your driving. Suction cup is made of silicon, easy to stick to windshield. Cons: I had Garmin, it doesn't stick to your windshield in cold Winter and fell off in hot Summer because the suction cup was made of plastic but not Silicon but after 6 years, it's still working. I had a Magellan and it died after one year. Like the other brands, they sometimes took me to dead end or lead me to the lake and told me to drive straight ahead or gave me a city tour before it took me home, and so did my tomtom. On my first trip, tomtom took me to the wrong turn to the back country road at Merritt from Vancouver to Calgary and told me to U turn after 20 minutes drive on highway. The very worst part: Tomtom doesn't have a button to take you back to homepage, not sure if it has a homepage. You have to type in your destination. It doesn't just drive and scan the roads' names and speed limits like other brands which sometimes I like see the names of streets around me, not with TT. I dropped my wife at supermarket and wanted to bookmark the location to my favorite, I didn't let me but said it only takes locations close to the roads, after nearly 40 minutes, I managed to add the supermarket's location to favorite but then I couldn't edit the name. I am web designer and it took me that long. Very user unfriendly.
