Umarex XBG Carbine Conversion Kit is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Carbine conversion kit Exactly what I was looking for without infringing the laws. Had a bit of troubles initially, but finally I was able to get it all together.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks cool, works, but a bit showy When I saw this in store, I thought between the price of a CO2 powered bb gun ($50) and look of the gun (looks like a TMP), I thought it was a good bargain. But after fireing, the shell that makes it a TMP (or more precisely a carbine rifle) is purely for show. While the gun function has power behind it, if you're buying this gun for looks, you might want to dish out the $50. But if you're buying for function, you're basically buying a removable, small CO2 powered gun and about $20-25 worth of plastic. (However, it's potentially lethal at short range.) This kit comes with a moveable/removable front grip, a non-removable flip-out stock and three rails for accessories (scope, laser, flashlight, ect.). But unless you need the rails, or have weak muscles you're not going to need the shell. I can fire this with one hand. Though, you might need the shell to assist with long-range aiming (sight may need adjusting upon purchase - requires tools not included). However, if you're going for looks, I highly recommend this gun. It looks like a cool military weapon and if you're into making videos (internet or otherwise) it'd make an excellent prop. Very tough and, near as I can tell, very realistic looking (I'm not expert on guns, but it definitely doesn't look like a toy). But no kick and no blow-back. The trigger is a little tight, though. One MAJOR plus is that you don't have to remove the actual gun from the shell in order to load it with CO2 or bbs. (Does not have reservoir for extra bbs and clip only holds 19 at a time. Fortunately, gun is semi-automatic only.) One last thing - This gun shoots bbs, not pellets! Hope this helps. :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Interesting system Purchased at Queensbury store @$49.97 + tax. There are some minor issues that I have so far. The first is that the instruction manual is small so the pictures leave something to be desired. The second issue is in the instructions for removing the XBG pistol. "Remove front retaining pin (illustration 15)". That pin is plastic and, to me, too small to get a good grip removing and replacing. It feels like it is going to break. I will be changing to a longer pin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not bad at all I just bought this yesterday and thought it was gonna fully auto shoot(at least 6 bb's at a time like the Storm) but found out that only the Storm does that BUT its still a very cool gun and a kid would LOVE this BB gun so I will recommend it to anybody unless its a full auto you are looking for, then be prepared to pay about double what this one costs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke with first use. The BB exited the frame breaking the plastic barrel of the conversion mount with in the first 10 shots. Upon inspection it was assembled correctly so it's not clear how this would happen. Was very disappointing. It's being returned.
