Description & Features+

On Blu-ray for the first time ever, this digitally remastered edition of "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" practically jumps off the screen with its brilliant picture, rich sound - and dangerous curves. It's 1947 Hollywood and Eddie Valiant (Bob Hoskins), a down-on-his-luck detective, is hired to find proof that Marvin Acme, gag factory mogul and owner of Toontown, is playing hanky-panky with femme fatale Jessica Rabbit, wife of Maroon Cartoon superstar, Roger Rabbit. When Acme is found murdered, all fingers point to Roger, and the sinister, power-hungry Judge Doom (Christopher Lloyd) is on a mission to bring Roger to justice. Roger begs Toon-hating Valiant to find the real evildoer. Complete with hours of bonus features - including three digitally remastered Roger Rabbit Shors, this multi-Oscar(R) winner (Best Film Editing, Best Sound Effects Editing, Best Visual Effects, Special Achievement in Animation Direction, 1988) is pure magic in Hi-Def Blu-ray.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hilarious Hare Raising Tale This effort by director Robert Zemekis in 1999 seems as fresh and entertaining as if were made today. The combination of superb animation with live actors may seem commonplace today, but has never been delivered with greater effect. The film punctuates Zemekis' talent across medium and genre. Lead roles by the late Bob Hoskins and Christopher Lloyd demonstrate some of their finest craft. Voices provided by Kathleen Turner and Charles Fleischer are superb and give credence to what talented actors can bring to a character even via auditory interpretation. This film is rated PG which is appropriate, but while young children will be fixated by the marvelous animation, the theme is definitely adult. I am only disappointed that there hasn't been a follow on film. As the film was highly profitable and critics applauded wildly, the absence of another similar production is hard to understand. Hollywood could sure use the innovation and creative spark.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from good movie, bad disc I love this movie but the disk constantly skips. I am not sure if it was banged around too much from the shipping but I ordered a bunch of movies and all the ones that cam in the mail have something wrong with them.
