BBQ Salmon Pineapple Burger

This is a great way to enjoy salmon. A piece of pineapple adds a tropical twist and arugula a nice peppery finish.

1 pkg Dempster’s® Deluxe White Hamburger Buns 8
8 Salmon Fillet (each 5 oz/150 g)
0.5 cup BBQ Sauce 125 mL
8 Pineapple rings
2 cups Baby arugula (500 mL)


  1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat; grease grate well. Grill salmon for 2 to 3 minutes per side or until grill-marked. Continue to cook for 2 to 3 minutes, basting with barbecue sauce, or until just cooked through.
  2. Meanwhile, cook pineapple rings for 2 minutes per side or until grill-marked and tender.
  3. Assemble salmon in buns with arugula and pineapple rings. Serve with more BBQ sauce, if desired.
If serving for less people, divide accordingly.

Recipe notes

  • Substitute baby arugula with baby spinach, if desired.
  • Use one (398 mL) can of pineapple slices for a prep shortcut!
