Fishing Game

Take the fun mainland with this fishing game that's sure to challenge fishers of all ages. Bring the adventure home with this DIY game without breaking a sweat. One catch: to be the best, keep on practicing.

Project Essentials:

  • 1 Elmer’s Wooden Dowel
  • Paint, red
  • Foam Sheets, assorted colours
  • 6 Jiggly Eyes, assorted sizes
  • Foam Stickers - Critters, Green Worm
  • 3 Paper Clips
  • 1 Magnetic Button
  • 50 cm (20”) Plastic Stretch Lace
  • Scissors, paper, marker, pencil, eraser
  • Tacky Glue or Glue Gun (adult supervision required with glue gun)


TIP: Refer to the photo as a guide.
Fishing Rod Instructions:
1. Paint the Dowel red and let dry.
2. Cut a piece of Plastic Stretch Lace approx. 50 cm (20”).
3. Tie one end to the painted dowel and add glue to hold in place.
4. Glue the other end between the Inch Worm Foam Sticker and a Magnetic Button and let dry. 

Fish Body Instructions:

  1. From the different coloured Foam Sheets, cut one circle and one moon shape and 4 small hearts for the fish fins.
  2. Glue 2 hearts together. Repeat.
  3. Glue the circle and the moon shapes together, sandwiching a Paper Clip at the top and 2 Heart shapes at the sides.
  4. Glue Jiggly Eyes on the front and let dry.
  5. Make lots of fish. Make them different sizes and colours and write different numbers on the back of each fish with a marker for scoring.
