Environmentally Preferable Products
Canadians want products that are manufactured, sourced and packaged in more sustainable ways.
We don't believe they should have to pay more for those products.
We're on a mission to provide our customers with environmentally preferable products that are
comparable in price and quality to the products they currently use.
Today our For the Greener Good shelf-tags can be seen in our stores on organic clothing, energy efficient appliances,
ethically sourced foods, biodegradable cleaning products and more.
What is a For the Greener Good Product?
We currently offer over 900 environmentally preferable SKUs on our store shelves.
Labelling a product as more sustainable is a responsibility we take seriously.
Before a product is identified as being For the Greener Good,
it must receive third-party accreditation as being better for the environment.
Programs such as EcoLogo, Energy Star, Forest Stewardship Council,
EPA Design for the Environment and Green Seal are just a few which we recognize.

Sustainability Index
Walmart has announced plans to develop a worldwide sustainable product index.
The index will establish a single source of data for evaluating the sustainability of products.
Our company will introduce the initiative in three phases,
beginning with a survey of Walmart's more than 100,000 suppliers around the world.
The survey includes 15 questions that will serve as a tool for our suppliers to evaluate their own sustainability efforts.
