It's a great device. Especially if you're into story games. But obviously you do need a PS5 unless you pay for the premium subscription which lets you stream games. But even then you need stable Wi-Fi, you need to know that you won't be able to access the library of games you already own. Only what ever PlayStation has put out for the month. 

Streaming from the PS5 isn't wow either. If you're playing an online multiplayer game like fortnite, rocket league, COD, etc. it's not very great. There is input lag. Not horrible but if you're a hardcore gamer you will absolutely notice.

You can't stream YouTube or Netflix unfortunately. 

It's still great for story games, being comfortable on your bed and enjoying some games. So it's still worth it but you need to know the Cons.

Good for story games

It's a great portable streaming device. Easy to pair up to ps5. The graphics are nice, but only as nice as your Internet connection. Bad internet connection = bad graphics and terrible lag. 

This can be used while away from home, but note that this isn't a separate ps5, it only streams what is already on your ps5. So if your connection is bad on either end, it can cause issues. Or if you have a power outage where main console is, you may come across issues of reconnection. Someone in the room with your ps5 can also watch you play on the big screen if the tv is on—sound included. Was pretty funny watching my spouse play and he didn't know I could hear and see his gameplay. 

Has an aux where you can use headphones. Also can use wireless ones. C-cable charging port. Volume level is decent, good enough for me to hear. 

The controls are simple and easy to use. The interface is easy and can access Home Screen easily. The touchpad is a little tricky, but I got it after a few guesses (double tap right and left on screen). Touch pad works well. The screen is very slim and I'd keep away from young ones who can't handle this yet as it can break very easily if dropped. No case comes with it, so I'd also highly suggest buying a case for it to rest in.

Charge is great. This was keeping me occupied for 4 hours and didn't even have the charge warning yet, but was pretty close to 1 bar. So it does have a decent battery life. 

Love it and works well for me especially if I want to play games near my spouse or if I'm away from home.

Easy setup and great portability

I'm glad I purchased this at the time I did. If I bought it before the update, I would've returned it. But now it's amazing! Just make sure you have great WiFi. Other than that, I love it. Bought me a hard shell case, going on a cruise next month this will be perfect

I love my portal 😁 it's been a great investment. 10/10. Portability is awesome. The games play perfectly over stable wifi. I've played games like spider man and gta, and fortnite also nba 2k, just to name a few. I really dont have any complaints. Battery life is great for me. Ive played Spider-Man for hours. I'm not a super havey gamer. But I'd say even a heavy game, you could get 4 plus or so hours, if not more. But you'd just have to play around with it, to see how it holds up for you. For my I can get about 10 plus hours out of it and still have 15 percent. So i guess it just depends on what your playing and how much. I got a cool cover case for it and it feels good in the hand. I also got a screen protector for it too. So i think im good to go. The buttons feel great to and the screen is awesome. Hope this helps a little. pls have a good day.

My ps portal experience.

The portal works wonderfully, especially with an ethernet connection! I have had no input delay from the remote play connection and it feels wonderful to play away from home and in bed! i highly recommend this! It feels so much better than playing from remote play on the phone!

I got this for myself I honestly love it I take it everywhere! Yess even work only downside is if you don't play on it constantly the graphics tend to dip to 240 and the lag is tremendous but it's only temporary it's like starting a car I guess lol but after that the graphics are stellar! 4k quality

Excellent for playing around the house (bathroom specially, hehehe).
Just in case, this is not a console, it's an extension of your ps5 tv. And you must play near them using the same network.

Factors to improve: make it a portable console, and decrease the screen weight.

Picture: compare its size with a Nintendo Switch Oled.

Pretty good.

We got this so our daughter can play one device and another person can play another. It is really cool and interesting to handle. We like the mobile aspect. We dont take it far from the ps5, and it is still a little laggy. despite our high-speed internet, we still get some slow down on it. Im sure that's normal as it is a portable connecting to the system. We dont play any hardcore games on the portable anyway. All the ones are laid back so the lag doesn't matter too much. Overalll the graphics are really nice, and we enjoy the screen and handling. It's a little heavier than we thought, but if you keep it downwards, it's easier to hold. We appreciate this system add on and hope to get some good play time out of it!

Pretty cool little addition

Great for someone who's looking for a more casual way of gaming on your PS5 or for people who arent able to have themselves planted in front of there TV throughout their day. I am finally finishing off all my those games I did not finish just by laying in bed. For a person who uses a TV setup by the bedside, I was bot able to play more than an hour without feeling very uncomfortable and ending my gaming session, but with the portal im able to just kick back on the couch or the bed and continue where i left off. I do about %90 of my PS gaming through the portal now. Only downside is that you do have to have a good internet connection speed to really enjoy the experience it gives. I was on a 500mb fiber plan with a household FULL of electronics and it was not enough to support the portal to the best of its ability. I upgraded to a 1gb plan and i have absolutely no problems with it now. If you dont have a high speed internet plan or are not planning to upgrade to one, try hard lining your PS5 to your router. That would definitely help with any connectivity issues you might encounter.

Great for comfort and convenience

This is a controller with a screen in the middle and a built it network card. That being said it does its job well, screen looks good and buttons are great. The performance of this device is entirely dependent on internet connection speed so take that into consideration when you buy it. Need good speeds at home at out and about if you plan to play remotely.

It's a streaming controller screen

Will be returning.  The portal would not advance past the log-in stage.  No QR Code to scan and would not accept log in credentials.  I have not found a way to correct this issue.  Hoping this was just a bad egg and that a return and replace will result in one that works.
