To start bottle feeding, you'll need baby bottles, nipples (in appropriate flow rates), formula (if not using breast milk), a bottle brush for cleaning, and a sterilizer or boiling method to keep everything hygienic. Some parents also use a bottle warmer and insulated cooler bag for on-the-go feeding.

Newborns typically feed every 2 to 3 hours, or about 8 to 12 times in a 24-hour period. Whether using formula or expressed breast milk, the amount and frequency may vary based on your baby's weight, age, and appetite. Always feed on demand and watch for hunger cues.

Signs that your baby is getting enough milk include steady weight gain, having 6 or more wet diapers a day, and appearing content after feeding. If your baby seems fussy after feeds or isn't gaining weight, consult your pediatrician.
