Food Banks Canada is the leader in addressing food insecurity in Canada. Our mission is to provide national leadership to relieve hunger today and prevent hunger tomorrow in collaboration with the food bank network from coast to coast to coast. For over 40 years, food banks have been dedicated to helping people living in Canada with food insecurity. Over 5,500 food banks and community organizations come together to serve our most vulnerable neighbours, who — this year — made close to 2.2 million visits to these organizations in one month alone, according to our HungerCount report. Since 2010, Food Banks Canada has shared over $1 billion in food supports and over $275 million in funding to help maximize collective impact and strengthen local capacity—while, backed by leading research, advocating for meaningful actions from governments to counter hunger and its root causes. From Feb 5 to Mar 4, 2026, participating suppliers Conagra, Ferrero, Kellanova, WK Kellogg’s, Mars, PepsiCo, and Proctor & Gamble will donate to Food Banks Canada as a part of "Fight Hunger. Spark Change." Total contribution is $1M.
Customer and Walmart contributions:
From Feb 5 to Mar 4, 2026 Walmart customers can round up their purchases at the register to the nearest dollar that will be contributed to Food Banks Canada’s local affiliate food banks or donate online at Walmart.ca. Walmart will provide a contribution of $1M.
Food donations:
Stores will be accepting non-perishable food or weekly essential donations for local food banks. Donation bins are at the front of each store.
Goal (meals):
Based on total supplier, customer, and Walmart contributions received during the "Fight hunger. Spark change." campaign. The approximate cost to Food Banks Canada to secure a meal is $0.50 – based on available data.
