From April 20 to May 10, 2017, participating suppliers will donate a portion of the proceeds of the sale of select items* at Walmart. Walmart’s participating suppliers for Fight Hunger. Spark Change. are Canada Bread, General Mills, Kellogg’s, Kraft Heinz, Maple Leaf, Mondelez International, Old Dutch, Pepsico, Starbucks and Unilever. *The select items chosen by each supplier are set out on this webpage. Maximum donation from all suppliers - $500,000.
Social Media Donation:
For each share or retweet on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #FightHungerSparkChange, Walmart will donate the monetary equivalent of 3 meals ($1.00)* to Food Banks Canada or its local food bank partners. Maximum donation - $80,000. *Source – Food Banks Canada.
From April 20 to April 30, 2017, Walmart customers may round up their in-store purchases at the register to the nearest dollar. A customer’s round up of a purchase will be donated to Food Bank Canada’s local food bank partners. Walmart will match customer donations up to maximum of $820,000.
Number of meals set out in the goal is based on total supplier, customer and Walmart donations received throughout the Fight Hunger. Spark Change. campaign, and the approximate cost to Food Banks Canada to secure a meal ($0.33) for those in need. The goal is an estimate based on available data and is subject to change.
