What is Mobile Check-in?

Mobile Check-in is a convenient feature available on the official Walmart Canada app that allows you to save time when picking up your grocery order. It’s simple to use! When we notify you that your order is ready for pickup, all you have to do is tap “I'm on my way” on the app, which will alert an associate that you’re on your way. Then, we’ll estimate your arrival and prepare your order so you won’t have to wait.

Is there a fee for using Mobile Check-in?

We offer free Grocery Pickup & Mobile Check-in for orders over $35 (before taxes & fees). A flat fee of $7.97 applies to orders below $35 (before taxes & fees). 

Why should I turn on push notifications on my device?

We recommend turning on push notifications for the best pickup experience. It’s how our associates will keep you posted by letting you know your order is ready for pickup.

How do I enable push notifications?

iPhone devices:
  • Go to your Settings
  • Select Notifications and then the Walmart App
  • Set Allow Notifications to “On”

Android devices:

  • Go to your Settings and turn Notifications to “On”

Why should I turn on the location services on my device?

We recommend turning on location services for the best pickup experience. It’s how our associates will estimate your arrival so they can prepare your order accordingly. We’ll only use your location information when you check in and stop immediately after you get to the store.

How do I enable my location services?

iPhone devices:
  • Go to your Settings
  • Select Privacy and then Location Services
  • Set Location Services to “On”

Android devices:

  • Go to your Settings and turn Location to “On”

I'm having issues with Mobile Check-in. What should I do?

Here are a few things you can try:

  • Ensure you leave the app turned on during your pickup journey
  • Make sure your device is connected to a wireless network
  • Close and re-open the app

If you’re still experiencing issues, please call the store directly. You can find your store’s phone number on your official receipt email.
