Directions

Purchased it for my 8'X 8' fish pond. I live in Colorado so we do have very cold weather. I tested this deicer by put it in the freezer for 30 minutes then plugged in electrical outlet for 2 to 5 minutes. The bottom gets warm every time.
It's low profile in the shape of Lotus leaf matches with my natural Lotus plants.

I did try it out and it does work, I just can't wait to see how well it keep the pond from completely freezing. I want to try it with my chickens waterers as well! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Do you struggle with your ponds or other small bodies of water freezing during the colder seasons? I have a small Koi pond in my backyard garden that I thoroughly enjoy during the Spring, Summer, & Fall, but the Winter season is another story. Although I don't personally enjoy sitting outside by my little pond during the colder months, I still want my Koi to thrive without having to move them every year during that time. The Spreetail Farm Innovators' PS-200 Cast Aluminum 200 Watt All Pond Floating De-Icer Heater is the answer to my problem! This super, lightweight floating de-icing heater provides convenience and ease during frigid temperatures allowing me to keep my somewhat shallow pond from freezing and thus allowing the koi to thrive all year round! It's very easy to install by simply plugging into a grounded 120 volt receptacle outlet and place the compact, lightweight saucer into the most shallow end of the small body of water. That's it! The floating de-icing heater will do the rest of the work for you....literally! Although small & lightweight, this floating de-icing heater is durable from the design to the ten foot power chord that's chew-proof. In addition, you don't have to concern yourself by running back & forth to check the temperature within the pond, because this product contains a thermostat that shuts on and off when needed. Also, it's important to have a hole exposed in ponds during freezing temperatures to allow gasses to escape. With the floating de-icing heater, it automatically provides that thanks to the de-icing feature, which in turn keeps my koi safe from any harmful gasses. Convenience & Ease in Regulating Water Temps!

works good, melted thru 6" of ice to the water level in less then 12 hours in single digit temps, so far so good!!

Seems well built, and sturdy. Since this is a pond heater, it should be AOK in the crappiest of weather. I'm using this to keep my chicken waterer unfrozen in the harsh Chicago winters, so far so good. The internal thermostat should also save money by turning it on and off as necessary.

sturdy construction

I have a small pond in my backyard that we recently  expanded, the saucer is light weight and a green shade that should somewhat camouflage with the lily pads and other shrubbery. Directions are easy and straight forward. Once the winter hits, i expect to save a little bit of money, and more importantly have my fish survive the winter, while implementing the saucer into my pond regimen.
