There is a dip to catch any juice, but it all slides into the drip tray. I'm absolutely in love. You do have to oil it after each use, but it's worth it for the stunning wood and will last forever.

Taking care of it will be key to its lifespan. It can handle any jobs, like cutting meats or vegetables. This cutting board has a convenient metal drawer to catch your food or whatever you don't want on the board, just slide it into the slot on top of the board. The catch tray is metal and is easy to clean and is sanitary. It also came with a packet of their oil to condition when the time comes, about a month's worth of use. I love this board and it will be so very useful for many years, I would highly recommend it.
