[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this Pyle 8" subwoofer to use in a homemade boombox. It is a dual voice coil design so it can be wired for 2ohms which is nice. The terminals are the spring loaded push down type which is very impressive for this price point. The magnet is decent sized. Oddly the basket frame us actually made of plastic but doesn't seem to be an issue with my modest power needs. 

I am powering this with only a cheap Pioneer car cd receiver which has rear speaker outputs that can be used on a subwoofer such as this. I have it running as  2 ohms and the Pioneer receiver claims 70w rms of output (with adjustable low pass filter set at 80). It works really well for my homemade boombox and gives ample bottom end for my needs. I didn't try this with a high power amplifier in a vehicle so I can't comment on how it sounds at full power but I really like it for my application and the price is pretty incredible for what you get. I definitely recommend for these reasons..

not bad for the $

This Subwoofer worked better than expected!
It really can thump for its size. I put it in an old Hot Rod truck behind bench seat, in a small unported box and You can feel it thumping the seat, and Your butt!!!

A Real Humdinger of A Little Subwoofer

I did like the price point of the speaker. it is of good quality. But it does not fit the hole for the factory woofer. It is not the manufacturers problem, but was a little disappointed that it did not fit.
