I bought these ramps in several heights when I moved into this house 10 years ago. We installed the 6" one right away because the 6" step from the kitchen to the family room was just too high for my bad knees. We walked up and down it for five years before we remodeled and had a ramp built right into the flooring. It was a fine tool that never gave us a problem of any kind. Dogs, people, and an occasional wheelchair of walker used this ramp daily. The aluminum vacuumed and washed easily. Our second ramp was going from the front hall to the foyer - a 4" drop. We installed that when Dad became ill and needed a wheelchair or gurney for transportation. Again, the ramp was a little trooper. These sections slide together easily and once you have them in position, you screw them into place. They stay there and provide a strong, secure no-slip surface for descending and ascending changes in height in your home - or outside your home. The do not rust because they are aluminum. If I had not found these ramps online, we may not have purchased this home, built in 1978, when it seems people thought it was "interesting" to have changes in floor heights.

Great threshold ramp!

I purchased this ramp within the last 2 weeks.It is built well,and extra sturdy.my wife`s wheel chair goes over it very easily.I installed it in a very few minutes.I should have bought one long ago.

Only problem was order info did not specify that two covers came with the order. Ended up getting four covers and paying twice the price. Not worth the time to return un-needed covers so I gave them away.

Works great

The wife and I are both getting on, and the use of the ramp eliminates the drop of 51/4" to the porch. It has helped us out a lot. We both use walkers. This way your walker doesn't clunk down to our porch. It could use one more section to make it just a little less steep for us.

I would buy other products as we get older.

Great product, Great price!

Our volunteer organization builds ramps for challenged people who can't afford to have them built. We have found this ramp to be the ideal finishing touch at the bottom of ramps that terminate on hard surfaces. The units are easy to install and very durable. Just wish they came in 36-in widths.

Good Finish for Handicap Ramps

This ramp was easy to assemble and it is sturdy. We purchased it so my husband can use his walker to get on the porch through our slider door. The ramp is steeper than we expected. When the back wheels of my husband's walker are still on the threshold of the slider, the front wheels are completely down and off the ramp. He uses the walker brakes and has to lean far forward to walk down the ramp. I wanted to send it back but he said we should keep it. I gave it three stars for assembly and sturdiness. The length just doesn't work well for our situation.

Ramp for transition from slider door to porch

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I applied this ramp to the side access of my front porch. Due to the noise created every time one steps on it (grinding sand between it and the concrete) I will have to adhere neoprene rubber strips to the bottom beams and fill the cavities with a 2-part expanding foam to deaden the loud metallic noise every step. This ramp has a strong design using telescoping edged parts that easily slip one to the other. Unfortunately it is the nature of metal-on-concrete, to slide on any sandy elements existing on the concrete PRIOR to installation, so sweep the surface thoroughly first, then apply a silicone-rubber adhesive to hold it in place. The mounting holes provided on the top lip (gap cover) are too close to the edge of the concrete edge to make using any concrete/masonry screws practical, and RAM-SET nails would protrude enough to make for a tripping hazard. So adhesive seems to be the choice most practical for this application.

Not bad with some installation tweaks.
