I purchased these not only for the range but also for use in the industrial setting operating a cnc they work great only thing i wish is that the electronic was able to filter out more of the background noise but i can hear voice fairly well and the cutout is great very comfortable in daily use 8+ hours

I purchased Walkers Razor Quad Muff for about $70.  I was trying to spend less than $100.   They work fine, but sound protection was not as good as I was anticipating.  So I bought these Walkers Xcel 500BT.  I like them much better.  Sound protection is much better and I like the Bluetooth better.   I paid $95 for these headphones.  The extra thirty dollars are worth it.   Im keeping both sets of headphones but I will only use Xcel 500BT Headphone at the gun range.

Being able to clearly hear voices while still have top notch hearing protection is great. Also, I like that the Bluetooth can be turned on or off. They also have a great fit, even for my larger head. lol.

My 1st electronic ear protection

One of the best products I have bought and glad I did. You don't think you need something until you have them and now you can't go without them.

XCEL 500BT Digital Muff/w voice clarity/Bluetooth

Works perfectly in all modes shooting,workshop and especially mowing. Music is clear and mower noise is like a whisper, fantastic.

These are great hearing protection muffs.  The bluetooth option makes them great to listen to your music.

I use it to hear when I'm on my deer stand. Normally can't hear.  Better than my VA hearing aids

I have bad ears

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I hate the noise of the shootings. It scares me so much. These headphones protect the ear a lot. I can adjust if I want to hear outside, or I can lower the sounds. I love how comfortable they are and actually cancels the shooting noise. I was also able to see if I could speak on the phone, while shooting, and it works perfectly.

I was using analog Razors where the sound hit both ears so you don't hear directionally. But I also use them at work in a loud environment and figured it was time for an upgrade

The 500BT's have amazing clarity, love that I can connect to my phone for music and calls, so handy having directional hearing, and the different hearing modes are handy

Also compared to the Razors, the wire placement on the top of the cups is much better. My razors are already separating from the insulation of the wire after maybe 1.5yr because they're in the too centre of the cups. On the 500BT they're offset so when you store them they don't pinch overtime 

My one downside I'd say is battery life. The Analog set is rated for maybe… 300 hours? The 500BT is more like 10 hours. Definitely carry a spare 2 or 4 batteries in your kit just to be safe. But the increase in audio quality and features makes up for it. Not to mention they're rated for a higher decibel than the Razors (22db vs 26db)

Amazing upgrade

Pros-
-They work really well to block out harmful sounds and elevate voice.

Cons-
-Super annoying battery replacement alerts happen every two minutes when the battery gets low.
-They make loud annoying beeps in your ear when you are connected to Bluetooth and using your phone.
-Triple a batteries vs built in rechargeable. 
-the controls feel designed for your eyes, not for your fingers while you are wearing them.
