Rated 5 out of 5 by from You Won't Be Disappointed I never tried pilates prior to buying this video but I was sick up bulking up every time I started a regular workout routine. I found this video (as well as another that will remain nameless since it was completely useless), a pilates mat, and hand weights and gave it a try. It will tire you out the first couple times you try it but then your body will begin to change drastically. I had about 35 pounds of “newlywed” weight that I wanted to get rid of and this helped dramatically (I lost the 35 pounds I put on since my wedding and a few more). Of course, your diet plays a key roll too. Anyhow, I would recommend this to anyone who was looking to tone their body and lose weight, especially around their core. I do have a couple suggestions for anyone looking to get started on this video. First, don’t use hand weights heavier than 1 ½ pounds when you first start out. This is what I started with and it was perfect. I recently upped the weights to 3 pounds each and it’s amazing how much harder the arm & shoulder section is with just that little addition of weight. However, your body will once again get used to it. Second, try to vary your workouts. I used the buns & thighs, arms & shoulders, and stretching segments one day and followed with the waist slimmer, total body blast, and stretching segments the following workout day. I did this about 5 times a week and had very fast results. Third, always follow the workout with the stretching segment. This really relaxes you and keeps you from getting sore the following day. I hope this info helps!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Muy Excellente! Seriously great workout. As one reviewer stated, it can be a bit more challenging for a beginner, but not impossible; do what you can and keep at it. You will be able to do everything she does in the workout within about 2 weeks, because you will be stronger and more limber. Also, be sure you have a hand towel close by for the Slim and Sleek Stretch portion; as she states in the segment, you can use it for the shoulder stretches until you reach a level that you don't need it anymore. What you can't do now, you WILL be able to do within a couple weeks if you STAY CONSISTENT and do it at least 4 times a week. I have found that this DVD all but eliminates my need for cardio. It doesn't just tone your body, it completely CHANGES it. You will be defined and toned in areas you didn't even know you could define and tone. HIGHLY recommended!

Regular practice has helped to relieve some of the bad posture i have developed over the years and ease some of tensions and stress that have built up in my body from sitting all day at work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from amazing I am always a little hesitant to believe anything claiming "rapid results" but this made me a believer. I've only done it a handful of times but I can already see a difference. Even my family has noticed some changes. I end every workout with the stretching segment and it always helps calm and cool me down. Great product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Suprised I had a negitive attitude towards pilates, but I bought this DVD because it came with a free pedometer. The pedometer was worthless and has never actually worked, you get what you pay for right ;) When I did decide to try this DVD I had a bit of a pesimistic feeling, but turned it on. There are 5 segments, she does a little snynopsis of each one and then you play them all or choose one. I chose the 3rd segment which was suprisingly easy to follow she gave great instructions about breathing in and out. It reminded me of the 8 minute abs routine but was slightly more chalanging. To do all 5 segments you would need 3 lb hand weights and a mat or carpeted surface. I was pleasantly suprised and do at least this one segment a few times a week.
