Cables

Allowed for the ability to organize the different components in a way that will survive current personnel and to easily identify what wires went where.  Allowed for consolidation of different elements (i.e. computer, smart TV, telephones and security cameras) to all be run from one location.

Perfect for what we needed to do.

Monoprice

This is an excellent patch panel for a Cat5a rated cable even though this rated for Cat6 cable. What do I mean by this, the Cat5e cables are smaller diameters compare to Cat6 and so it fits perfectly when bundled together behind the panel and you can close plastic shroud. -- The white plastic shroud would be nice if the manufacturer modifies it to complies the Cat6 or future diameter thickness of the cable.

Design for small networks.

They were fine but the only challenge is that with CAT6 wiring thickness the gap for fitting 6 from the bottom and top is a bit challenging but worked.

Fine but tight cable fit

It's a good quality patch panel, easy to mount and connect. Just one disappointment. In the box together with everything else, I received twelve relief clips ("dust caps") that should go over the connectors after the wires are punched down (see the product video). The clips could be attached all right and hold well. However, when I tried to insert the panel into the mounting bracket, I found that the clips interfere with some bracket features, and the panel could not be clicked in. I had to remove the clips (which was somewhat difficult, they hold really well), then the panel could be nicely installed.

It's a real boomer. All parts come from a respectful firm, packaged in a single box, and are completely incompatible.

Good Product; Relief Clips are Incompatible

Although the quality of this patch panel is perfectly fine, BEWARE that even though this is listed as a 12 port CAT6 patch panel, the mounting bracket is NOT deep enough to hold 12x CAT6 cables. Only about 6 cables will be able to be punched down and still be able to clip the panel to the bracket.

Not Deep Enough for CAT6 Cables

If you use this with Cat6 cable, you will struggle to use all the ports due to the size of the cable.  The frame it mounts to the wall with has insufficient space to accommodate even Cat 5e all in the same direction.  It works, but I wouldn't buy it again until the mount is designed properly.

Decent for the price

There is just not enough room in the back also the plates that lock the wires in don't work very well.  they hit on part of the mount and this makes it difficult to snap it back in.  I have used punch down panels before and this was a dissappointment.  Going to find something else eventually even though i do have it working.

Does not work well with thick CAT6 cables

I thought this patch panel would be perfect because I didn't need 24 ports but I needed more than six or eight ports. The problem is this patch panel dropped my speeds by 10x. I know this patch panel is the problem because I used another patch panel and got higher throughputs on all cables. Router --> cat 6--> patch panel --> computer gets me 90mbps, through the other one I get 900 mbps in the same configuration, even adding a gigabit switch between the panel and computer.. No matter where I put a switch in, same problem, this patch panel drops all speeds going through it.

Dropped gigabit speeds to 90 mbps

I was just getting ready to punch down the CAT6 cables I ran through my house and realized the patch panels have really low clearance for the CAT6 cables.  There's no way I can get (12) CAT6 cables ran through the patch panel when I punch them down.  Once I get everything punched down and flip the patch panel, it's never going to snap on the white base (I cut 12" sample cables to test it before I started cutting and terminating my cables to verify).  I have 26 CAT6 cables to punch down on 3 of these 7304 punch down blocks,  I don't think I can even get (9) CAT6 cables to fit through the patch panel.  I'm a little bummed, it looked like they would work really well.  I'll have to see if I can MacGyver something or pick up new patch panels from somewhere.

Bummed Out!

This panel is rated for CAT6 cable, and while there are 12 open ports the wall bracket is such that CAT6 cables do not fit between the bracket and the panel itself.  While the size and purpose are good, the design to be able to use the cable it is designed for is bad.  Might work OK for CAT5e but even those would be tight to properly snap the panel onto the bracket.
