Can be effective, but temperature control can be inconsistent.

So far so good, I've only had it for a few days in Michigan, but we are expecting upper 90s next week with the heat index around 110°! Doing good while it is 85° outside hopefully it can handle the heat next week! 
I haven't had any issues with breaking plastic clips that I have seen other people talk about, everything has went very smoothly. I have moved it from three different windows with no issues!

I've had this unit for 2 years now. Just came back to the website to check something in the manual but figured I'd leave a review. This is a great unit, lots of cooling capacity and is quite energy efficient (comparatively). When running full blast it's a bit noisy but once the ambient temp has reached the setpoint the unit quiets down significantly. I would highly recommend this ac.

Powerful and efficient unit

We have had an LG product for years. When I opened this product up I was blown away. This is outstanding the craftsmanship of this product is mind boggling. You've outdone yourself. I'm really going to enjoy the useage.

Terrific portable A/C

We got a new replacement unit and so far it's working fantastic! It's very quiet and wouldn't even know it's in. Cools our main floor perfectly!

Great AC Unit

Let's be real — the cooling is good, no complaints there. It chills the room like a champ, and that's the bare minimum you'd expect when you drop over $800 on a machine!
But here's the plot twist: it comes with a built-in “wiiiz wiiiz” soundtrack. just loud enough to ruin your peace, but just the right level of annoying hum to slowly melt your sanity. Want to focus? Meditate? Exist in peace? Not with this guy buzzing like it's remixing your thoughts. The remote? Feels like a cheap knockoff. Laggy, unresponsive.
PRO: Cools well.

wanted a premium AC, not a background DJ!

Danby 12000 BTU 3-in-1 is great.  The Apt got cooler in 5-10 mins.  It is easy to operate.  It's quieter comparing with my dehumidifier.  I only used the AC and the fan but not the dehumidifier yet.  I like this AC.  The reason why I gave a 4 star.  It took a long time to set it up in our window.  We have a 3 pane vertical sliding window frame.  It's hard to measure the proper height.  It required to cut the plastic to fit the window frame.  It took a long time to do it.  Also it required too much insulation.  Wish that Danby could provide the plastic for vertical and horizontal windows frames.  After setting it up,  the AC is working perfectly.

Great AC

I'm reviewing our Danby portable air conditioner to support the warranty extension.  We've only been using it for a day, so time will tell on it's performance, but it's a hot and humid day and so far it's making a noticeable difference. Started blowing cool air right away and is doing a good job of moving the air throughout our space. Reasonably quite too. Set-up was relatively easy and almost everything we needed came with the box. There are a few gaps around the clips and connecting areas on the exhaust system, but we used some of the foam that came with the unit and a bit of tape to seal them up. We're hoping that we won't have to drain it often as the drain is located at the bottom of the unit and we can't easily get to it without lifting the unit up or detaching it from the window to move it to a suitable space for dumping. Too early to leave a 5 star but so far we're pleased with the unit.

Quick set-up, happy so far

Cools space well. Oscillating vent flap is a neat feature. Wish there was a way for the air to be blown sideways as my adjacent open door kitchen doesn't cool as well as the main living area where the ac is in.

Good

Works fairly well, If you need to go the portable route this is probably among the best. 

That said, the programming by Danby is ATROCIOUS! EVERY TIME the compressor cycles (roughly every half hour, in my case) the cooling / exhaust fan ramps up to "jet takeoff" speed, for about a minute, before slowing back down to the slow, quiet speed that it then runs at for the following 29 minutes. 

Seriously, the machine is quite quiet, UNTIL ITS NOT and that frankly defeats the entire purpose of it being quiet in the first place!

Ok but with one FATAL FLAW

Works nearly as well as the 10 year old LG portable A/C which failed recently but dual condenser hose is way too short for many installations and cannot be extended. Had to build a plywood duct to enable the Danby A/C hose to reach the window. Very poor design! A better alternative would have been to use two 6" round corrugated hoses for condenser inlet & outlet.
