This seem to be a good a/c for the money…it function very well, I put it in our living room and it was fantastic! Like it that there's a remote and it works well.

Amazing!!!

This is a great air conditioner. You can't go wrong with Danby, it's my go-to brand for air conditioners. Reliable and well made. I also love the fact that it comes with a warranty so if anything happens in the first year or two I know Danby will ensure my machine is running the way it's supposed too, and if it's not an issue with their product they'll get me to someone who can clean it or fix it if needed. 
Shipping was right on time and came intact. It was a pleasant shopping experience all around. Highly recommend!

Danby is the way to go for air conditioning needs

It seems to work well. We have only used it for about 3 weeks. It is nice that it has the wi-fi feature so we can cool our bedroom before we go to bed. It aso has a remote control. I installed this air conditioner myself, but I suggest you get help as it tells you to. It wieghts about 75 lbs, so very heavy.

A Good Air Conditioner

It's May of 2024, and I won't have an informed opinion on this window air conditioner until June, July or August, when I'm likely to first use it as Summer heat necessitates using one. The reason I'm rating it 4/5 stars is because I expect it to do well cooling the first floor of my large Vancouver, BC house when used with a few fans to distribute the cooled air, based on having previously used a very similar Danby 12,000 BTU model for a few weeks each Summer over the last 2 years. With such limited use, there's no way I can speak to its reliability, so good luck with yours if you buy one, and register your warranty on the Danby website to receive an extra 2 months coverage and hopefully easier warranty service, if needed. What surprises me is that it cooled over 550 sq. ft. of space on the first floor of my home even when the temperature reached 35 degrees Celsius = 95 Fahrenheit.

So far it's living up to the positive reviews. After only a week, I've had to turn it down three times already for how cool its made my 550 sq ft apartment, which is on the top floor, with windows that the sun shines on all day.

Installation was a breeze, so I'm thinking those complaining about the installation process are new to installing window air conditioners or didn't read the manual.

Is it really quiet? Somewhat. You're not really going to get silence with 12,000 BTUs and a fan this powerful, but it does have a lower pitched whirring sound that is kind of pleasant, rather than a high-pitched whispy noise or an annoying motor tone.

If I'm being picky, the power cable is shorter than most other air conditioners, so look out for that.

Otherwise, this is so far a solid appliance by a company who obviously cares about making good products. It was definitely worth buying.

Worth it

We are quite satisfied with our air conditioner.  It is performing as we hoped it would.  The communication before delivery was not good though and we were left wondering if we would ever receive the unit.  Energy Star is the way to go!!!  We replaced a 10,000 btu unit and are very happy.

Very good performance(of the air conditioner)

The installation manual was terrible to follow as didn't offer other solutions if your window had a ledge from the inside. The box came a bit worn out, and from inside the window filler panels came squashed and as well as the seal strip.

It has very loud noise even though its at the lowest fan. Keep that in mind if you wish to have it placed in the bedroom.

Overall, paid a bit more than what i budged it for as I was told Danby is a good brand. Lets see.

Not what I expected

First order was a week late and then cancelled for no reason.  Second order which is this one came damaged.  Couldn't return to store because over $250.  Stuck with damaged unit because return is too difficult.  Never buy online Walmart again.  Sorry

Damaged Product

The AC arrived damaged on the side, metal was bent slightly inwards which isn't a big deal. However, the moment I turned the AC on there was a bad odor coming out, smells like fish. I reached out to support and they asked me to send them photos which I can't do unless I take the entire super heavy AC out and I'm not guaranteed they'll send me a new unit. The smell didn't go away, everytime I turn the AC on the smell comes back and I'm not sure if this is the smell of Mold or bacteria build up.
