ECO-PLUG’s universal 12MM – 16MM, 1.25” thread recessed drain hole Magnetic Oil Drain Plug was specifically designed for stripped aluminum oil pans. The tapered, self-tap thread fits snugly into most makes and models, stopping leaks and the need to replace the pan. Lifetime Guarantee The ECO-PLUG 12MM – 16MM Magnetic Oil Drain Plug was built to last. It is security recessed and seated in steel t-bolt. Go Threadless, Go Magnetic, Go ECO-PLUG. How to Install: First, drain the oil from the pan. Using your hand, install the self-tapered thread bolt into the pan threads. Push and turn clockwise until the plug takes hold. Slowly turn the hex-bolt clockwise using a 7/8”. Turn until thoroughly tight. Remove the hex-bolt and clean the tapered threads with a cloth. While wearing safety gloves, knead two-color epoxy until it is uniform in color. Apply the epoxy mix to and around the marred area of the tapered threads. Wipe the threads. Install the thread bolt with applied epoxy into the drain hole. Turn clockwise with the wrench until tight. Let stand for 10 minutes. Fill oil and check for leaks. If you notice a leak, slowly turn the hex bolt clockwise until leak stops. How to Remove: Do not remove hex bolt. Apply ECO-PLUG Magnetic Removal Tool to ECO-PLUG or clamp with vice-grips or pliers and pull to remove. Stop installing temporary oil pan thread fixes. Don’t replace expensive oil pans. Go Threadless, Go Magnetic, Go ECO-PLUG.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I did fixed my Honda accord 2014, my actual drain plug was leaking, I installed this one instead buyiua new  oil pan and installed it did fixed the leaking issue making now a quick oil change way avoiding maybe a 300$ job

Very simple to install (2001 VW Beetle) and works great for a poorly designed aluminum oil pan - no more worries about the threads! Based on advice from others, I used standard JB Weld instead of the epoxy sent with the bolt and let is set up overnight. No leaks so far!

Works as described

Used on a stripped aluminum oil pan on my 08 civic si. Just put it on yesterday and used some high temp jb weld instead of putty like many recommended. So far no leaks. Will try to remember to update.
