Bought this pool at the end of June 2019.  Kids love it!  Was fairly simple to set up and had no problems.  Loved the idea of the pump attached to the side of the pool and off the ground.  BUT, with this pump design if you fill the pool, the water gushes over the lid of the pump.  The pump does not have a seal on the lid of any kind so when you fill it up it only ends up being maybe 36 inches deep not as deep as advertised.  Unlike the 18 foot Elite pool, the 16 foot does not come with a maintenance kit or ground cover so right off the bat you are spending more money before you even set up.  Not a huge deal but annoying either way.  Then to top it off, at the end of August my pump started making a very loud noise.  I unplugged it thinking maybe I let it overheat or something.  Let it sit overnight and tried to turn it back on and it would not work at all.  Upon taking the motor apart I discovered that the rotor shaft is broken.  I have called Polygroup and they have said they would send me a new part which is great but it's almost the end of the season and I am disappointed that after only 2 months of ownership I have to replace a part that should not have broken in the first place.

Works well but...

I really like the ease of use with the pump included, however the location on the pool and design of the pump allows you to only fill the pool to a maximum depth of 38 inches rather than the advertised depth of 42 inches. As a tall person the extra 4 inches makes a huge difference.

Depth isn't as advertised

We purchased this pool less then 2 months ago and the liner tore at the seem  after e weeks of using this product!!! NOT TO MENTION we did everything as told or recommended too to make sure the pool was level AMD sturdy NO ONE jumps into the pool and really only myself and my 2 young daughters use it 
Cannot find anyway at all to contact walmart for a new liner or the company it self.
Needless to say I have w incredibly disappointed girls AMD have spent a fortune on trying to patch it and not to mention the water Bills considering we patched and filled 3 times this past weekend 
Walmart should have a better way of getting ahold of and honoring their warranty!

So so disappointed DO NOT BUY!

Thought the skimmer design was quite good and keeps pump / filter off ground, however, if you put to the max fill line, water gushes from the lid which is not at all sealed.  If its at the minimum line your looking at 36 inches depth not 42 inches. Stear clear of any design with this skimmer design

Zero Stars

Bought this 2 weeks ago. Took a week to fill. And first use had to refill over a half a foot. Pump hoses leak from the plastic clamps and the top of the pump from backsplash the pump design is horrible. They need a modification design for this pump. Stay clear of this design if you have to pay for water usage.

Garbage pump design

I was super excited to purchase the 16x48 summer waves elite pool. My excitement was short lived when I realized it did not include a ground sheet. So off to Walmart I had to go to buy 4 tarps to cover the ground where I was setting up my pool. We always have a saltwater pool so I bought the saltwater generator as a replacement because my Intex saltwater system wasn't compatible.
I had the saltwater filter running for 4 days for 24 hours and there wasn't any chlorine in my pool. I returned it to Walmart because the cell didn't produce chlorine and I couldn't adjust the time I wanted to run the filter. The second did produce some chlorine but it never seems to be enough even if I run it for 10 hours at a time. I still am unable to adjust the timer on this one too. It only runs for 10 hours. I can't decrease the time. And have to continually run the filter to keep any significant amount of chlorine in my pool, which affects the other chemistry in my pool.
I also had to buy a summer waves sand pump because the filter on my original 16x48 wasn't strong enough to clear the water in my pool. The sand pump was extremely difficult to connect to my pool. The directions are incomplete.  I called the help desk three times looking for help.  I had to take the motor from the original pool filter out to seal off the flow of water, using a seal cap. Nowhere in the instructions did it mention using the the rubber gasket from the motor to help seal the cap. When I finally put two and two together to get, it took me hours, (I kid you not!) to try to get the gasket, the seal cover and the old pump not to leak. The gasket wouldn't fit over the cover no matter how I tried. I was told to use Saran Wrap to keep it from leaking. I was told the gasket was faulty and would have to find my original receipt and send it to the warranty department where I'd have to wait 2-3 for processing and 10-12 for delivery. It was so frustrating. I almost packed the whole pool and filters up to return to Walmart.
And now I have a low pressure issue with my sand pump that I have to spend today trying to sort out. It seems to be endless!
 I have spent way too much on all the products to get my pool working , including the pool, the saltwater filter, the sand pump, a subpar maintenance kit, and have had nothing but problems with all my Summer Wave products. Well, that's not 100% true. I bought the basketball net for my son's birthday and he loves it, so there's that. I wish the Wal-Mart had stuck with Intex for the pools and supplies.

Super disappointed

First time I filled this pool it leaked 3 inches overnight. I drained it, patched it and another hole created another leak. So disappointed. Trying to patch this hole now. Last year I had an intex pool that was perfect and had no issues. Single mom trying to do something nice for my boys. Cost for the pool, for all the water and patch kits. Never again.

NIGHTMARE

First day with kids swimming, 3 kids playing a game of Marco polo. I would rather a small leak. Polygroup and Walmart should recall this design or provide a modification plate to use a normal intex pump filter

Pool party? Yes for your utility bill

missing parts (said it would take up to 3 weeks to get) season is short. broken step. no maintenance kit to clean sold separately (out of stock told to keep checking) no ground cover

big disappointment

As others have said the skimmer design is horrible.  Why in the world would they design it to leak out the top?  It also prevents you from filling the pool to the intended depth and from using a pool vacuum.  All of the fittings are one-off sizes so you cannot use any standard hoses or fittings to connect your own pool heater.  The included cover is too small and does not stay on properly.

Did they even test this pool before they manufactured it???

Walmart needs to go back to Intex pools.  They are not perfect, but they are better than this crap!
