Details Genre: Kids & Family Language: English, French The double feature of "Christmas at Plum Creek" and "The Creeper of Walnut Grove" succeeds, as executive producer Michael Landon and the warm, fuzzy behind-the-scenes folks so obviously intended, at stirring the sap within. "Plum Creek" carries the nostalgic back to the early seasons, when Laura was still a genuine half-pint, braids bobbing on either side of her head. Christmas is coming, and clan Ingalls is intent on surprising one another, their meager means notwithstanding. Secrets and bargain-driving abound, but in the main story line Ma wants a stove and Laura sells her most prized possession, pony Bunny, to nasty Nellie Olsen to buy it for her. When the magic morning arrives, her sacrifice is made bittersweet by Pa's gift of a saddle. "The Creeper" fast-forwards a few years and includes some familiar townspeople, bespectacled teacher Miss Beetle and Dr. Baker among them. Timothy, the town's top student and brightest prospect for a college scholarship to study medicine, turns amateur thief when his pa is laid up and no longer able to tend to the farm. He makes off with a pie, some jam and bread from the mercantile, and a hen in hopes of helping along his father's recovery, but junior sleuths Laura and Andy Garvey are hot on his trail. When the jig is up and Timothy confesses to Pa, the town's good folks come together to pitch in for the foundering family. That way, Timothy can accept the scholarship he's made Walnut Grove proud by winning.

DVDs worked great. Fantastic show. Can never go wrong with Sam Elliot but was pleasantly surprised by the performances given by the entire cast. 10/10 .

This story is beautifully told and the scenes capture the old west at the time period the film references.  The dialogue and scenes contained hard language, killing, sexual situations but was not overdone.  The character of Elsa was strong with perseverance needed for her journey.   At the end of watching 1883, I actually thought that the person who wrote this should have written Yellowstone.  I was absolutely shocked that the same writer who wrote the wonky, foul language spewing in mostly every scene, heinous killings,  overdone, gratuitous sexual scenes, and dysfunctional family situations…I thought out loud,”What happened between 1883 and Yellowstone!?!?”  These two shows could not be different from one another!  1883 was a wonder to watch as the story unfolded!!! Superb!!!  It was everything that Yellowstone wasn't.  I recommend 1883 wholeheartedly!!!

This prequel to Yellowstone was great,   Highly recommend this series.

Dvd 1883

I like this series better than the modern day times of the series.  Plenty of action and the characters were excellent.

Edge of seat series

Loved the shipping and packaging. The story is interesting about the journey west for a group of mostly foreigners who are disenfranchised from their homeland. It is also sadly heartbreaking for most of the folks on this trail in this series. Very well done but quite depressing at the same time. There are heroes and villains and the in-betweens. The story is mostly seen through the eyes of a beautiful young woman who is both wise and melancholic.

Well done, interesting and quite sad.

Worse purchase ever three out of the four discs malfunctioned fourth one wasn't bothered with

1883 Fail

All 4 dvds are garbage. They dont play all the way threw. they stop %26 wont continue, they lag %26 skip. i have wipped them off for any debris %26 still won't play. dont waste your money.
