BOUGHT THIS DVD BURNER WITHOUT READING DESCRIPTION TOO CLOSE. WHEN I RECEIVED IT I NOTICED IT USES A SATA CABLE CONNECTION. MY OLDER COMPUTER USES AN IDE RIBBON CABLE. THANKFULLY AMAZON.COM HAS AN ADAPTER THAT CONVERTS SATA TO IDE FOR AROUND $7. hOOKED IT UP AND COMPUTER FOUND IT IMMEDIATELY. USED IT LAST NIGHT TO BURN A DVD FROM MY COMPUTER WITH NO PROBLEMS. WOULD BUY THIS AGAIN AND RECOMMEND IT TO OTHERS.

With the necessary bridge to connect this to an IDE computer, the device has been perfect for my movies and audio CDs for streaming devices and other material to my computer, specifically used to rip movies via MakeMKV and audio CDs using Windows Media Player.

Great DVD burner for the price. It was easy to install and setup, actually Windows recognized it in device manager and updated the driver from their own database.

It was strange getting the drive. didnt come with anything at all. NOT EVEN A BOX! Just got it in some bubble wraping.

It was ok because I already had extra SATA cables I could use and I dont really care about the cheap software that usually comes with these drives.

Everything was plug and play and it work GREAT!

THIS IS THE BEST DEAL OUT THERE FOR DVD BURNERS! Its cheaper than eBay and this item comes NEW!

You're not going to beat this product for this small amount of money. I still remember when DVD burners were young in the market, and the Sony was the best you could get, listed pricing at about $400. This Asus does a great job for a little over twenty bucks. Can't beat that. Every PC should have one. I plan to buy another one very soon for my other PC. This one I bought for the PC I built for my wife for Christmas 2011.

Internal DVD ROM Drive

It will burn dcds on my laptop but will not burn dvd on my desktop! I don't know  how to fix this problem.

came with loose pieces rattling in drive. did not read any discs
