I recently downloaded chrome as my browser. Much to my surprise, it has a voice command feature - just tell the computer what site you want to go to and it will jump there. Only catch - you need a microphone. After browsing around I found the Cyber Acoustics Desktop microphone for about five bucks. Ordered it, installed it easily and it works great. Very light weight and easy to use. Not too often that you find something this cheap that does what it's supposed to do.

Low cost solution to computer needs

Needed inexpensive mics for a meeting to allow our skype customers to hear what was going on (a non-video meeting,too). I bought four of these, and hooked up three to my laptop. Wow! Everyone said they really made a difference (compared to previous non-mic attempts). They snapped together so easy I didn't even have to read the instructions. High quality, but lightweight too. And the cords are about six feet long, REALLY stretches across a long conference table. These are great!

Mic Sang Its Little Heart Out!

This was purchased to provide the capability to use Skype to converse with my daughter who is attending school in Toronto. I didn't want to buy a headset with microphone since that might limit the ability to just one person communicating at a time. I found this as a clearance item and decided to go with it. The sound pickup is pretty good, and I do like the swivel base design. It meets the expectations for what I needed it for without the need to buy something much more expensive that would give me only a little more in benefits. What also impressed me was how fast the ship to store turned out to be; it arrived two days earlier than expected, and just in time for me to surprise my daughter on her birthday.

Great low end Microphone

Used for voice recording. Works well! It's records voice clearly from 10 ft away, even when mic is positioned on desktop beside monitor and not even visible to person speaking. For $8 (including tax) you can't go wrong! Note: make sure "mic boost"is enabled (checked) under advanced controls for microphone in Windows.

Was very impressed with this product.I use it regularly and everyone says they can hear me loud and clear.Great price..I ordered it online (ship to store )and was very pleased with how quick it was shipped.Overall I would recommend it to everyone.

I had to get this for a school assignment, and the price was right!   I have never done a recording, so this was all brand new to me.   It was super easy to set up and use.  The sound quality was better than I had hoped, very clear and it just sounded nice.  I am very happy with the microphone!

Works and sounds just fine!

I bought to skype with my daughter in France. It appears to have excellent sound quality. Voice pick is also very good.

Good product for the price.

I use this microphone with both messenger software (i.e. Trillian, Yahoo IM, etc) and for gaming community voice chat programs (i.e. RaidCall, TeamSpeak, etc).

This microphone is very light, easy to assemble and adjust, and generally easy to use. This is definitely a good microphone to buy if you're on a budget and only need it to chat.

The only drawback is that I needed to adjust the microphone boost settings for it, otherwise the volume was much too low. I would personally suggest testing it with either a voice recording program (like Windows Movie Maker) or by chatting with a friend online to figure out your ideal settings.

A Good Value for Essential Microphone Needs

It was hard to find a stand alone microphone for our desktop.  We just got Windows 10, which you can give voice commands your computer to do things.  Now our computer can hear the commands and is performing well!  Got the job done for a great price!
