Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is the newest installment in the popular Monster Hunter series, which has sold more than 28 million units worldwide to date. I started Monster Hunter from World and then moved onto Rise. I own a 3DS and many fans have recommended me to go back to 4 Ultimate if i wanted the best experience of “og monster hunter.” With the 3DS eshop and internet capabilities being shuttered by Nintendo, this was the most surefire way to get a current new copy. But that means there is a finite amount of them out there and once a fan gets one, they arent getting rid of it. Get yours while you still can (unless you learn of other means. Yo ho),

Classic Monster Hunter is most certainly NOT everyone's tea. It is a slo-o-o-ow affair in the beginning, and takes a long time to get good gear and weapons. Once you do though, you'll find an extremely entertaining gameplay loop and a ton of monsters to slay! 

MH4U differs due to having somewhat of an actual narrative with multiple villages to visit along the way, as you strive to get to the top rank. It also was the first, I believe, to add the Insect Glaive and verticality to the nth degree. I have yet to use the glaive in any game, and the verticality can be a bit annoying, but otherwise, there is a reason this is called one of the best MH games. 

Great graphics, for the 3DS, fun monsters, large weapons roster, a narrative, and more! If you are wanting to round out your collection, no excuse! If you are new to the franchise and want a starting point, I'd say this or 3U is great! If you started with World or Rise, be warned it is a whole new world (to quote a Disney song) so be prepared for more grinding, wonky hit boxes (at times), and a strange new graphical engine.

Monster Hunter, now with verticality and a story!

I got this about a week ago it's an amazing game recommend for people looking to drone a bunch of hours into a game

The play style is so cool
