Smell

I purchased this item for our 2 bedroom townhouse. I chose the Lavender scent and I must confess that this item definitely outperforms the description! My puppy tolerates the product without distress. Definitely a 5☆

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a free sample of Filtrete Whole House Air Freshener-Vanilla Scent to review. I really liked this product. When reading the instructions for installation, it seemed a little complicated. Once I opened the package and took out my air filter, it was actually very easy. I began to smell the vanilla scent right away. I have a 3 bedroom home and I could smell it in every room. The scent was pleasant, not overpowering. After the first 2 weeks, I did not smell it as much when I was home all day but when I left and returned, the house smelled wonderful. After the 30 days it is supposed to last, I could still faintly smell it when entering the house. This is an easy way to scent your home.

A Great Way to Scent Your Home

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I waited to put my Filtrete Whole House Air Freshener, that I received to review from 3M on a new filter when time to change it. I didn't want too strong of a scent so only opened 2 cells at this time. The freshener does exactly what it says and my whole house has a pleasant lovely scent of vanilla (my favorite) I can go back and open the other cells and have a stronger scent if desired, but for right now I am pleased with the light scent. The area where my furnace is located ( my laundry room) also keeps a nice scent even when the unit isn't operating. I like the whole house freshening instead of having to use multiple air freshening devices throughout the house. This is a wonderful idea and so happy to gind a simple effective solution for a fresh clean smelling home.

Delightful fresh scent

We are fans of vanilla so we really liked the Vanilla scented whole house freshener. The smell wasn't overwhelming. You really notice the smell when you have been away from home for the day. Easy to use and lasted about 3 weeks to a month.

Home Feels and Smells Fresh!

I received this product for free in return for an honest review. At first I wasn't sure how to apply them to my heater filter, but after some more reading of the instructions, I understood how they “hang” on the top part of the heater filter.

I started by replacing my current heater filter with a new one, so that I could properly tell how the filter scent worked. It has 2 columns of 3 round “buttons” that contain the scent. As soon as I opened the plastic packaging, I could really smell the scent. The instructions said to “open” 1 set of the 3 buttons, or both sets for a more intense scent. I just opened 1 column at first because I wasn't sure how strong the scent would be throughout the house.

Cut to the chase, I needed to open both sets of “buttons”. Did they work? Well yes, but they were not very strong, meaning, even with both sets of “buttons” opened, I really couldn't smell the scent. I honestly don't think I will be purchasing any of this product because I didn't really notice a difference in the scent of my house.

Not worth the money.

My husband installed a new filter for our house and hooked the 3M - Filtrete™ Whole House Air Freshener to it. We did not notice a difference with the filter attached. Our fragrance was vanilla and we could not smell it.

Whole House Air Freshener

I thought this would be a great idea instead of my plug-ins. Sadly, there is NO noticeable trace of vanilla scent in the house at all. The piece itself does smell, but it's 100% ineffective and waste of money.

smells amazing when you first open it and then you can smell it a couple times while the HVAC turns on. I seen the reviews where so so but figured it's only 5$ so I'll try it. well I tried it and I wont buy another one. we have used it for 2 days and the smell is gone.

dont waste your money.

Received this with a filtrate filter order by surprise (I didn't realize I ordered it at the time but I thought, what that heck I'll try it)  Total waste of money, can smell any fragrance at all.  Growing up in Minnesota I certainly expected more from a 3M product.  I have to say that I'm really not 100% sure it's installed right, I checked and double checked the instructions which were pretty foggy and I still couldn't figure out how it was supposed to work.

No fragrance in house, waste of money.
