I have had other floor roller desktop mounts.  Eventually the screws loosen and you have a unit that falls off of the mount.  Also, floor units collect the usually assortment of  "dust bunnies".
The desktop surface to which I mounted this unit was more than thick enough to accommodate the provided screws. 
If your surface is not thick enough to accomodate the screws, there are 2 options. 1.) use shorter length screws from the hardware store, or 2.) cut a plywood/osb sheet to the width and depth of this mount and use it as a shim to that you can use the vendor supplied screws.  If you go with option 1 and have a very heavy desktop, the screws may strip out and your desktop may end up on the floor.

3M under desk tower holder

We ordered 4 of these and have been able to install 1 of them, so far, on our largest computer. The computer is a large tower that is completely full of cards so it is very heavy compared to most computers.

Installation was pretty easy. The only modification I had to make was to install some 2x4 cross members under the counter so that the mounting bracket had something to attach to at the appropriate spots.

The computer does fit, but the support arm that pulls the computer in tight to the rest of the bracket flares out a bit so I will need to install a strap to make sure everything stays tight over time.

Like I said, this computer is larger and heavier than most. But, the holder does slide in and out well and pivots so that we can access the back of the computer to reconfigure the cables when we need to do so.

Having the computer up off the floor makes a tremendous improvement. The floor space under the counter is much greater and the computer is protected from kicks or spills.

I do recommend this holder to help protect your computer and free up space. And, the price here at Walmart.com is the best price I could find anywhere on the internet.

A good option for most computers.

The instruction manual provides screws to drill through your desk, but the instructions advise you to drill through the desk and provide no alternative suggestions.  They also provided me different screws than the ones in the instructions.   What a joke for an expensive product.
