I bought this about 4 years ago, have been using it quite regularly( at least 30 hours a week) I have not had one issue with it. It keeps up with a 2 roof nailers steady. Brad nailers, blowing out irrigation lines, cleaning small engines and equipment. Quite honestly 99% of my tools are dewalt. Of this compressor stopped working tomorrow, I'd go right out and buy the exact same one. It's easy to move around. It's soft rubber tires so it's not noisy to haul around. When it's running it creates noise. It's a compressor, I haven't heard of one that don't make noise. It's durable, mine has definitely seen its fair share of abuse. I'm a roofer and handyman. Has never failed once. If you want a small compressor that works great and last for a long time. Buy this one.

Good buy. A little pricey but I don't mind paying a little extra for quality tools. I keeps up and works so much better than my old pancake compressor from another company

Perfect for me

Best portable electric compressor I've owned, have it about a year now, I run framing nailers and it has no problem keeping up. It is also reasonably quite compared to the other electric compressors I've owned. I also like how easy it is to move and how compact it is.

Works Great!

I've had this compressor for over a year now and it runs great for my needs from using it to spray cool deck pool side in people's homes to putting air in my tires for a transportable little guy it sure is tough IT EVEN SURVIVED A HOUSE FIRE and still runs great

Small package big power

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My old compressor finally gave up the ghost so I opted for a more expensive DeWalt to go along with all of my other DeWalt tools. And so far I like all the features of the D55146, BUT the mini switch location leaves me baffled. It took me the longest time to find it. And in a location that defies logic. WHY did you put it there instead of on the panel with the gauges and air fittings?

Great except for the on/off switch

Used this fairly lightly but now the pressure gauge pegged and the face of the gauge blew right off.  I suspect the pressure switch went bad and the safety valve also did not work as designed.  Cheap parts.  I could have been injured as I was right in front of it and the gauge parts flew right by my head. I will get something else.

Was fine but now the gauge blew out and it died.

Regulators/valve systems are junk. Everything leaks. Multiple warranties and multiple compressors and they each have same problems. Buy a different brand. And I'm a Dewalt guy. I have thousands upon thousands of dollars in Dewalt power tools.

Mediocre

I'm a homeowner who does his own work around the house. I estimate I've put about 50 hours on this compressor over about 6 years. Mostly it's used for a trim nail gun. I drain the tank EVERY time, the air filter has 4 black 1/4" spots (not clogged with dirt, dust etc). I bought into the DEWALT brand with 2 screw guns, a light, a compound miter saw, palm sander, and reciporcating saw.

Compressor Failure after about 50 hours use

The Compressor worked Great for the first year and a half.  Started to hear a rattling noise.  Went to the Dewalt Factory and they indicated the Pump and Piston are going bad - Warranty is only for one Year. I would have hoped they Covered Internal failures longer than 1 year..

Piston / Pump went bad - Less than 2 years old

I got about 10 uses out it , I think something went wrong with switch , it will turn on some times , I can not count on it have it sitting in my garage . I have power tools they work great disappointed in air compressor

Did not last long
