[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] we love the shelter logic!   my husband stores his motorcycle in it and there is also room for lots of other stuff   it was mainly bought for the motorcycle but i have since put some stuff in it     every day when he comes home theres a couple more little items in it  such as garden cart   a small table and a cooler  i am secretly trying to build him a man cave   hahaha   but he likes it very much  thank you for making it affordable for us  in a perfect world we would have a garage but hey    you cant have everything and also at the same time i am grateful to have this!

I've used these easyhook duckbill anchors all over the US with shelter logic shelters. I have seen them withstand even 85+mph winds in the Arctic holding down a soft sided structure in the tundra. Driving them in with a hilti or other heavy duty rotary hammer makes easy work and are far more stable than using standard screw or nail type anchors.

Anchors were the right product for my application to secure my portable car shelter. I've reviewed them in the past and recommended that the end of the rod used to install the anchors have a rounded tip. The squared end gets lodged in the anchor and is very difficult to remove.

Installation of Anchors

we don't need anything special for tools but a hammer to install these easy hook anchors just make sure your framing is in the right place before you install these easy hook anchors than its done.

The driving rod got stuck in the first anchor.  I was able to pull the anchor out of the ground and remove the rod from the anchor.  I purchased a two foot piece of 1/2" rebar which worked perfectly.  The original driving rod is too thick I believe.  Once all anchors were in the ground, they worked great.

Driving rod is a problem

I needed something to secure a small metal shed to the ground, I found the Easy Hook® Anchors. They do require a bit of work to install, but take less overall space than screw-in style anchors. As someone else had stated in their review, (directly quoting the review here); 
"We have solved for this by slightly rounding one end of the rod with a file. By removing the hard factory edge, the chance of the rod sticking in the anchor is greatly reduced." 
Once you do this, the rest of the job is EASY. Thank you for your product.

Anchors Work Well

The anchors worked great, my area in Wisconsin has clay and rock, of the four anchors two went full depth without an issue, it had rained the night before so the ground was soft. The third anchor went in about 3/4 of the cable before hitting a fairly solid stone and the driving rod bent to about a 15 degree angle so I could go no deeper. I bent the drive rod straight for the fourth anchor and hit another rock, the 1/2" round drive rod bent into an S shape, I got about 1/3rd the cable depth. My suggestion is a hardened 5/8" drive rod shanked down to 1/2" to fit the anchors. Great idea though, I would buy them again.

Easy hook anchors

Overall a great product.  Once installed it met my needs and passed inspection.  I'd recommend cleaning the end of the driving rod and using some grease or anti seize on it though.  It got stuck in one of the anchors and I had to use a hoist to pull it out, hammer it apart and then drive it back in after cleaning and greasing it.

Great value for a good product

Every time I tried to hammer the anchors into the ground (we are in a highly rocky area) the rod would get stuck in the anchor and pull it back out of the ground.  The rod needs to be tapered on one end or a slightly smaller diameter to keep it from jamming into the anchor.  Getting the rod to release from the anchor was also a fun task.  Vice grips and claw hammer!  After the third attempt, I gave up

Frustrating!

These are horrible anchors. The driving rod gets stuck to the 1st anchor after driving it in the ground, so you end up with one anchor in the ground and three with no means to drive into it. I had a spare rod from another anchor set already installed, so I tried using that. It got stuck too! The softer metal the anchors themselves are made of and the tapering hole for the rod make for a terrible combination, guaranteed to get your rod stuck.
