Ease Of Installation

Vent

My dryer stopped heating. Found out that it blew a safety fuse designed to prevent fires when the vent  piping is clogged ,which it was, and the dryer overheats. 
So since I had the washer and dryer moved around I decided to do some needed things (painting,replacing vent system,etc). The vent pipe use to be that accordion flex type and had collected so much lint as to be almost 90% clogged.  When I disassembled the dryer it had almost half an inch of lint all over the inside.  
The dryer vent exits the house right where the air conditioner is located outside.  I had to clean the air conditioning condenser coil of clogged up lint every season.  
I saw the Proclean lint trap and thought it would be a good solution to my problem and it was. 
It is amazing how much lint and pet hair that gets by the dryer lint screen.  The photo shows another box above the Proclean which is the Deflecto Extra Heat heat exchanger that I use to direct heat from outside ventilation to heat the house in the winter.  Why waste the hot air I say.  
Why I said that the proclean may work too good is because I have to stop the drying cycle at least 2 times for each load to clean the Proclean lint trap screen.  Like I said it is amazing how much lint and hair it catches but it is not a problem for me to clean it that often. Much rather do that than have the vent piping get clogged up again. 
I do recommend cleaning the screen during drying cycle because there is an intentional gap between the wire screen frame and the door.  This is a safety feature so as when the screen gets full there is still a way for air to get through which not a real problem but that is debris that was missed and getting further down the vent system. 
However, it totally depends on how much debris you want to trap.

Our dryer vent exit is our patio. Wanted to prevent any lint from getting on my patio floor. So far so good.

Does its job

It was easy to install.  So far, it seems to be working fine.  It is catching lint that makes it past the dryer.  The trap is easy to see the amount of lint on it (should be with a clear front) and easy to remove to clean.

Great product!

The first of two went in today inline with the 4" dryer vent pipe that exists already. It is easy to install and I showed my client how easy it is to open and clean out the lint screen. Turned on the dryer checked for air leaks and found none. The lint trap immediately stated to collect the small amounts of lint getting past the dryers lint filter.  This will stop the lint from getting all the way to dryer exterior vent near the root crest.  I cleaned this area and found inches of lint spilling out around the roof vent when I cleaned the entire line of lint.  This should make for know more cleaning of lint from the vent pipe.

Another successful install!

Functions as one would expect. Easy enough to install, but I before purchasing the buyer should note that the edge of the 4" pipe opening has a raised lip which is probably there for the included clamps to have an very secure fit. However this does make it very tight if you need this end to function as male fitting into a female metal pipe; in which case it is easy enough to use a knife or other tool to trim off the shallow lip and fit everything together.  No trimming is necessary for Semi-Rigid Flexible Aluminum duct to fit over this edge.

Extra lint protection

Nice product, easy to install, works great, should have installed one years ago. really helps withthe lint from going everywhere

ProClean Dryer Duct Lint Trap

After replacing my 20 yo whirlpool dryer with other brand the amount of lint on exit increased 10  fold.  had to rectify it somehow. So, here comes this lint trap.
My impression: 
1. You get what you paid - feels really cheap. Doubt that clear door being opened and closed every other time would last long.
2. Lint trapping net is not catching all lint as it is has a "go around it" places - namely - it has about 1/4" gap by clear door.  Another issue is door itself is not a very airtight, so some amount of dryer air is vented into you room. That maybe a good thing for some, but I would prefer to keep warm moist air out.

That being said - It catches decent amount of lint, so it does the job for now. For a longer lasting product I'd look elsewhere

Waited over a week for it to arrive. When it arrived it was broken - broken hinge piece laying in the bottom of the box.  Ordered a second one. When installed, it is not  a tight fit so hot air escapes into the room. Also allows much more noise to enter the room.  I am looking for something better and more progessional to trap extra lint before it exits the house.
