"4 Film Favorites: John Wayne War" includes: "They Were Expendable" - Supplies are dwindling. Troops are hopelessly outnumbered. But even in defeat there is victory. The defenders of the Philippines - including PT-boat skippers John Brickley (Robert Montgomery) and Rusty Ryan (John Wayne) will give the U.S. war effort time to regroup after the devastation of Pearl Harbor. "Operation Pacific" - World War II rages across the Pacific and Lt. Cmdr. Duke E. Gifford is in the thick of it. He evacuates children from enemy-held islands. Oversees the development of torpedoes at Pearl Harbor. And prowls the depths in the submarine Thunderfish for a chance to aim his improved "tin fish" - torpedoes - at the enemy. "Flying Leathernecks" - It's World War II. Major Dan Kirby (John Wayne) is hard on his marines. His subordinate Captain Carl Griffin thinks the Major is overdoing it. But Kirby proves that there is a method to his madness after all. "Back To Bataan" - After the fall of the Philippines to the Japanese in World War II, Col. Joseph Madden (John Wayne) of the U.S. Army stays on to organize guerrilla fighters against the conquerors

4 Film Favorites: John Wayne Collection - They Were ExpendableOperation PacificFlying Leathernecks is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from With The Duke you can never go wrong Of course this was the best gift I could have given to my husband and I truely think he liked it more than his new Invicta Watch. (and he is a watch freak) We both enjoy John Wayne movies and I think my favorite of the 4 features in this dvd was Operation Pacific. You guys are just swell and I can not say that enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's The "Duke" What more can I say but it's The Duke, I haven't watched these yet but I guarantee I've seen them at least once before in my life time (71 yrs) and will most definitely watch them at least once and hopefully more. The man is the epitomy of Cowboys and Soldiers, from She Wore a Yellow Ribbon to Rio Grande and the Green Berets to the Sands of Iwo Jima and the Flying Leathernecks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from John Wayne Movies What can I say ? 4 John Wayne movies for 9 dollars. They are on 3 DVDs . The only thing I don't like is 2 of the movies each are on their own disc with a nice label etc. Two of the movies are on one disc with no pics ,labels or anything. You have to read the tiny print along the hole in the middle. Two of the movies look professional and 2 look like they came from India or something. They work but the appearance is tacky. Even so I thought 4 of JWs movies for $9 dollars was good.
