We just had the finished removed from our log sided home. As part of refinishing the siding we are sanding the whole house. I bought my third DeWalt sander, so additional family members could sand at the same time. Bought the same sander because of the experience with my other two Dewalt sanders. They just work!

Good for the large jobs.

I bought this to finish some built in dressers and closet doors. Sands smoothly with very little vibration felt in my hands. Produces smooth swirl free finish quickly. Runs extremely quietly.  Dust collection works great as long as you empty the bag frequently. Works excellent when using s shop vac for dust collection

Good smooth sander

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this about 6 months ago and have used it on several projects.  Yesterday I ran it non stop for about 6 hours and it performed flawless sanding the front door and I really enjoyed the fact that it didn't tire me out from running it.  My next project to punish it is refinishing the stairs, then repainting the garage, then redoing the sunroom.  I think this DeWalt will bring it.

Tough sander

With long term house remodeling plans, I quickly realized the need for a random orbital sander.  I purchased the DeWalt DWE6423 kit on sale at my local Home Depot.  Since that time I have regularly used the sander and found it to be very dependable.  The speed control dial makes it easy to adjust the RPM of the sander depending on the material being sanded and the 5" hook and loop pad makes it simple to quickly change the sanding discs. The sander is lightweight, and the shape of the top along with the rubber covering, make it comfortable for your hand when sanding for long periods.  Although I was skeptical at first of the attached dust collection bag, it does work surprisingly well.  This sander is a great value and I definitely recommend it.

Excellent Sander!

After purchase i used this sander to sand the deck of my 10x18 foot front porch. I used it for three days, about 12 hours total running time with ambient temperatures in the 90s. The sander worked well with no problems. I've rated it as 4 stars and will possibly add a fifth after i see how long it will last. So far so good....

I bought this sander after another one I owned (from a different company) broke during operation.  This is a superior product and made the project a breeze.  It does, however, lack on dust collection, but we don't do these jobs to look pretty!

Hard working sander!

I have been using the DeWalt sanders for many years, and was able to attach my central vac. system without any special adaptors.  The new DWE6423K is not a standard size outlet, therefore I cannot connect it to my dust collector  Poor design.  DeWalt needs an adaptor to attach to a 2 1/4" dust collector hose.

I am a little disappointed as I did not know this unit needed a belt and that the belt would need to be replaced from time to time. and also to hook up to a vac you need an adapter if I knew I needed adapter to hook up to a vac I would have bought one when I got the unit but now I will have to go to the store again and see if it is available if not I will have to order it.I have other dewalt products and have had no problem with them..So hopefully this will do as well

Bought this a few days ago and very disappointed. Nowhere near as stable and as smooth as the same electric sander Dewalt made 12 years ago that still outperforms this new one. The dust collection is nearly non-existent as 90% of the dust is left outside the bag. There's no comparison when comparing it against the 13-year old model side-by-side. I thought the dust collection was a cordless model issue which I had tried first and subsequently returned for the corded model but now seeing that they are both useless. Regardless of whether sanding on flat or irregular surfaces, it simply doesn't work. Plus the hooks on the pad seem to “let go” of the loop side far too soon/easily. Generally loyal to Dewalt but am going to have to explore other brands.

Dust collection is non-existent.
