I did not buy this because of bedbugs or any bugs- I bought this to cover my metal boxspring, and to be able to grab hold of it to move it around easier. as far as bugs go, I do not no how to answer that question on if this protects a person from them or not,sorry.

It's durable and wipeable. It needed to be aired out for a few days though as the vinyl smell was very strong.

Horrible off gassing, cannot be safe in my studio apartment (it reeks) additionally both covers ripped immediately attempting to put them on. Do not buy this cover.

Do not buy

The plastic/chemical odor was so horribly strong we couldn't use it. It's in the garbage. Do NOT recommend!!! ZERO stars

the zipper broke and it tore on the seam while trying to zip. And yes it was the right size.
