we originally didn't want to get a metal bed so first we bought the cheapest wooden bed from walmart, got it up to our 3rd floor apartment, put it together and although the wood was nice we realized the kids could easily jump on it and probably break the wood slats and im only 5'3 and couldn't sit on the bed without ducking and hitting my head so after a month of being unhappy we took it apart back to walmart got a refund and ordered this one online for the same price just spent an extra 130 on a really great futon mattress, I had one like this when I was a kid and I remember doing all sorts of stuff and it never broke. it came in the store a few days early one huge box my poor boyfriend had to carry upstairs but when it was all put together I was so happy. the kids love it and even my 6'2 boyfriend can sit on it and not hit his head. its also great for making tents on the bottom bunk, the only thing that worries me is when a kid gets on the top it wobbles a bit but I think that's just what a metal bunk bed does, it still seems very safe.

The entire process was really easy. Ordering online was easy, tracking my product was easy (after getting the e-mail with the tracking number), item arrived at the store just as the tracking info had said (it arrived earlier than the original shipping date they gave me when I purchased it online. So, following the e-mails with the tracking info from Walmart is important; it will let you know exactly where your shipment is and when it will arrive to the designation), pick-up and take your item home. That easy. Me, my 7 year old grand-daughter and 2 of my sisters put it together with no problem; just follow the directions. It helps if you have an area to organize all the tools spread out so that you can see everything you have. My grand-daughter loves her new bed.

Very Satisfied with the entire process.

Although I read a lot of the reviews and some were very negative, I ordered two of these beds for my children to remodel their rooms. I will have to say that the set up was a breeze, I am not sure about the other reviews where people were complaining about how long it took and the instructions not being correct, well I am not sure what those issues could have possibly been, because common sense is basically all you would need besides instructions for which types of bolts go where. Set up two beds in an hour and a half, of course the first one took a few minutes longer being that it was the first one, but the second one, no need for instructions, very simple. They are a little shaky, but nothing you can't fix by purchasing some "U" fasteners and securing it to the wall if need be. There was a few scratches on on them, but Hello they are packaged well and things happen, get some touch up paint and deal with it, for the price you really cannot complain. We love the look and are very happy with our purchase of both beds. We would highly recommend these beds.

Love these beds!

We have had this bunk bed for just about a week , and so far we are very pleased with it. When we first unpacked it, we noticed that it wasn't wrapped very well and we found a few dings, one dent and some scratches (where the paint was coming off). We were more worried about any structural damage (which there wasn't), so we figured for the price we paid, we couldn't be too upset. My husband set up the bed by himself and didn't seem to have any issues. Set up took less than 2 hours. We really like the unique C shape of the bunk bed and opted for the silver one. To compliment the silver frame, we purchase the navy 8 inch innerspring microfiber futon mattress (also from Walmart.com). Together they look great!! For the top bunk, we purchased an 8 inch memory foam mattress and our son has truly enjoyed sleeping on the top bunk! The height is just right for my 6 year old and our low ceilings. My husband and I enjoy the futon the most. When it folds down to the full sized bed, it's very roomy and comfortable. When it is in the couch position, all 3 of us can lounge on it and read books, comfortably (my husband is 6.3 and has plenty of head room). Overall, we are happy with this purchase. The whole set up is visually pleasing and my son loves sleeping on it

Looks great !!

overall nice bed. Once the box was opened and construction was well underway, we notice a kink in the top of the bunk bed. I would recommend inspecting each piece very carefully before you begin construction. We chose delivery to the store and picked it up there. we did not notice any damage to the packaging.

Inspect carefully

Quality is pretty good. Assembly is a little rough unless you have some muscle. Most of the pieces come all welded and just need to be put together. However they are very heavy and BIG. Make sue and follow directions about not tightening screws until finished. Black paint does scrape off if scratched. Advice- make sure you have a socket wrench. Wrench included is almost useless. Be prepared to deal with allen wrech screws. BIG PAIN.

Good bed for the price

I was disappointed that the bed did not come with a futon mattress. I was unable to find on the website if it came with one or not but decided to but it anyway. Now I'm a little irritated that I have to spend roughly another $80-$100 on the futon mattress. Where I thought I was getting a good deal turns out to be more costly then buying a wood/metal thick mattress futon.

No futon mattress

After we put this bed together we realized that the leg that should come down for the futon ( to hold it up as a bed) can easily break if you don't unscrew it before you turn it back into a couch. It's not a good bed for a kids room unless they're handy with tools . It pretty much has to stay as a bed or a futon you can't just change it up in a whim. Really bummed

Leg breaks easily

It would have been a nice addition to my sons room if it was not all busted up. I should have suspected from the box being in very poor shape that the contents would be in the same shape. I returned the bunk bed the same day and it took even longer to return it.

Bent and broken

This bed arrived at our local store almost a week before the estimated date. No problem with pickup and a couple of employees loaded it for my wife. Got the bed home, there were a few minor dings in the box, but nothing that would indicate any damage. Opened the box to find each main piece is wrapped in a plastic bag and then everything is held together with two large zip ties. Took all the pieces out of the box to find the bottom one was damaged and the plastic foot crushed. I don't normally rate items on their packaging, but this was so lacking that I don't know how they expect it to make it to the store without damage. I'm a glutton for punishment so I'm going to reorder the bed and try again. I'll update my rating if all goes well.
