This island (or at least an exact look-a-like) is available from several different companies.  I read the descriptions and could not tell a difference, so I went with this one as it cost several hundred less.  It arrived with quiet a few spots of damage.  Mostly little scratches to the paint.  It came in really good packaging, so the damage was most likely pre-packaging.  The marble top is nice.  I do not think it is a solid slab, but probably a veener of real marble over wood.  I say this, because the edges look like they are different pieces melded together.  Also, the underside does not appear to be marble.   Still looks really nice and is a very heavy top.  I thought the instructions were very easy to follow.  Just pay attention to the drawings showing you where the holes should be located.  May help to look at the next few steps ahead to make sure you are tracking what it is saying.  I assembled it by myself, but getting the top on would have been much easier with another person.  Overall, it is a nice island and I like how it ties into my kitchen.  For the price, I am disappointed that it came with multiple scratches, but not bothered enough to go through reordering a new one, disassembly/return, and another round of assembly.

This piece is really amazing considering the price. It is exactly what I was looking for, and the marble is fabulous. The only negative is that it is challenging to assemble, and you do not know it wrong until you try to put the shelves in. I also recommend sealing it ASAP, as marble is a very porous material.

Do not hesitate to buy this! Fabulous!

last side piece was 2" too short could not attach, has to be taken apart  repackaged and returned, very disappointed.

Need a work space in kitchen.  Fits really well, marble top looks wonderful, sturdy with lots of counter and underneath storage space.  Extremely pleased with this
